Today is International Chocolate Day (not to be confused with World Chocolate Day on July, 7th 😁). So, I'm having a mini-celebration ⭐

Chocolate Wars by Deborah Cadbury was a fascinating read (the author is related to Cadbury family, but not the chocolate-making branch). Meticulously researched, this book talks about process of creating chocolate as we know it today, and Quacker values that were the foundation of the company. The author touches on Hershey and Mars companies as well. And finally we arrived to acquisition of Cadbury by Kraft. Five stars.

I liked that this book was written and set in 2000-ish (oh the days of the internet being new), and that there was equal levels of financial power. I didn‘t like the MC all that much, but it was a cute story.
A mysterious handy man running from his past meets and falls for a chocolatier in a small coastal CA town.
2/5 fun but both MCs are not as flushed out as I would have liked & I want more about the chocolates! Read for some 2000s nostalgia

Most of the time I drink hot tea (no caffeine) or black coffee (decaf) with cinnamon. But at least once a year I like hot cocoa or coffee with Baileys and whipped cream!!
