1. Life stresses me and I manage it by reading alot.
2. A full rainbow and National Parks. My first full rainbow was in Yellowstone National Park. 💚

1. Many years ago, my grandmother took a winter trip through Yosemite where they rode big transport buses on the cleared roads in the park. I guess they stayed in the lodges at night? Anyway, it sounded like a fun winter vacation.
2. I would bring a tote bag full of books and then spend most of my time looking out the windows.

so-soI wanted to like this more than I actually did. Muir made this journey only a couple of years after the US Civil War, but the casual racism he exhibits whenever he runs into or writes about Black people is still really jarring. I wish there had been more pictures of the areas he traveled through.
I‘m about halfway through this short book. Wash has his paw on my knee as if to say, “But you could be paying attention to me.”
