This was an adorable picture book!
A great story of our little owl with a big dream and with the support of his parents and his own ambition makes it happen.

Not a lot of text, but lots of illustrations that helped the story along and for me that makes it a great picture book to share with kids.

December 1st is here, hoping for festive magic and cheer ✨️

I think that this book would be a great use in this classroom and it could be a good lesson about chasing your dreams and being kind as well as being brave..

This was exactly what the doctor ordered after Tuesday‘s results. I was totally charmed by Alfie, the lucky little screech owl who found herself wounded in nature writer Carl Safina‘s yard. Safina narrates Alfie‘s adventures, informs about owl behavior, but also ties in philosophy and human connection to nature (spoiler: we ARE nature). A lovely reprieve from the nastiness of this political reality. I recommend the audiobook!

I'm caught up. I can barely believe there are only 2 months left. 🙀

For the first time in a long time I had a good reading month! I whipped through Megan O‘Brien‘s Talon Security and Ride Series 2nd Generation- I couldn‘t get enough. But I think my favourite read of the month was The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches that I read with #LittensLoveRomance - Hoping to keep up the reading momentum this month.

16 books finished for October and very few were spooky season reads. Oops. In my defense, though, there was a surprise new Smiley, and that overrides just about all other considerations.
