I nominated this book for #CampLitsy25 but I‘m actually really glad it wasn‘t picked and I got to read it in Fall.

It starts with a woman faking her death to escape her abusive husband and then goes full throttle into serial killers, feminism, the supernatural, and family ties. I don‘t want to give too much away but I just loved it.

Frankenstein was enjoyable enough. As usual it wasn‘t at all what I thought it would be, but that‘s not a bad thing. My favorite chapters were the ones where they were on the boat. My least favorites were when Frank would just faint for months at a time.

Picture is of the pumpkin I bought today because the lady at the register said it looked like Frankenstein. (I didn‘t tell her she meant the creature.)

This is the second book I‘ve read in this series about solving crimes in the National Parks. I like them. This one featured grizzly bears in Montana. I‘m looking forward to reading more.

This started of strong but then became incredibly convoluted. In one way it was a train wreck I couldn‘t look away from… but there‘s also some format issues, walls of italics for a POV… the book is already multiPOV & timelines it was unneeded. I‘m not convinced the timeline makes sense, but either way it was taking me out of the story. At 1 point the main character says something that was meant for another character… a mess.

Book 2 in this series was great! I liked Cora & Iggy & the sisters getting deeper into their magic. +Cora‘s a reader so you get a lot of bookish jokes which I am always a fan of.

Another solid addition to this series about a Chicago lawyer who returns to her small hometown in Pennsylvania. She turns the family farm around and solves murders of course.

After being unimpressed with another series I started by this author I honestly didn‘t set my hopes too high but it was really a lot of fun and I‘m very curious to see where the series goes and what happens with Selene & Memnon her worst enemy/soul mate. The maturity level of the early college age MC was perfect & I pictured her in my college era taking on sorcerers & monsters in a bandage dress & Charlotte Russe heels. 😂

This is a fantastically insane book. One day tons of people die in weird ways; think fish falling from the sky & chip with a typewriter. Vera is a statistician who thinks she loses everything that day and just wants to give up but four years later Agent Layne recruits her to try to help solve the mystery of the Low Probability Event 💚
