#BOTM book of the year voting time! There were so many books that I loved on the list to choose from and still more that I am excited to read but at the end of the day TJR is my favorite author and Daisy Jones did not disappoint at all!

What book did you all vote for? #botmbookoftheyear #bookoftheyear

shellleigh33 I won this book on a goodreads giveaway before it was released and loved it then and still do!! This author has since became one of my favorite authors. I always recommend this book or Evelyn Hugo to anyone that is asking for a new book recommendation!! 2d
TheLibrarian I voted for Daisy Jones too! 2d
Book_ish @shellleigh33 me too! I read her first book Forever Interrupted a few years ago right after it came out and when she would release a new book I was vaguely aware and would read it and I would love each book more and more until I realized I needed all of her books the day they were published! Lol 2d
Book_ish @TheLibrarian I‘m not going to lie there were so many good ones this year that they made it difficult! 2d

There are over 21,000 books on this list. I counted 90 that I‘ve read before I realized that the list was never ending and probably every book that I have EVER read was on it. Still, if you are looking for some good book recommendations this isn‘t a bad place to start. It has everything from War and Peace to Twilight...

The Starless Sea | Erin Morgenstern
post image

I am always terrified to being books that I have been this excited to read but even my terror can‘t sway me from cracking this bad boy open right now! My #1, absolutely 🔝 most anticipated read of pretty much every year since I finished The Night Circus, so no pressure Erin Morgenstern, no pressure. #thestarlesssea

jillrhudy My coworker told me the New York Times Book Review savaged it! I read a galley a couple of months ago and wanted it to last forever! 1w
CaitZ I totally agree with you. I was lucky enough to grab a copy from the library's "hot reads" shelf. I loved The Night Circus and I'm kinda nervous about starting it. I'll have some time after dinner to open it up. Got my fingers crossed it's just as magical. 1w
Book_ish @jillrhudy I understand that her writing style isn‘t for everyone, it took me a long time to read Night Circus because even though it sounded amazing the reviews were shaky and then I read it and it immediately became possibly my favorite book of all time. So maybe the NYT reviewer just didn‘t get it lmao! 1w
Book_ish @CaitZ did you start? I pretty much spent the entire day procrastinating and only got to page 5 lol. Today, however, I promise to do better!! 🤣 1w
CaitZ Life got in the way and I wasn't able too. But tonight for sure - as soon as I get off of here 6d

Verity | Colleen Hoover
post image

Can someone explain to me why Verity is in the romance category?? I wanted to vote for it as it was one of my favorite books of 2019 but I couldn‘t vote for it as a romance novel. That book terrified me!

Scochrane26 Miracle creek is in the mystery category, & while it is a mystery, I don‘t think it‘s classified as that at the library. 1w
JoScho I thought the same thing! 1w
Book_ish @Scochrane26 @JoScho makes me wonder did the panel who selected these books even read them??? Or did they just see Colleen Hoover and say “Romance!” (edited) 1w

This was a fairly dark and disturbing book. The kind that gets under your skin and stays there long after you‘ve turned the final page. If you have read any other reviews for this book you already know that there is a big twist coming & while I did see the twist coming fairly early it didn‘t deter how enjoyable it was for me at all.

As I scrolled through my Goodreads feed and saw glowing review after glowing review for Sarah Pekenen and Greer Hendricks second novel An Anonymous Girl I feel like I am standing alone on an island of discontent. Am I the only one who didn‘t like this book very much?
