On a “Stalking-Others-Lives” Reading Streak right now 👀
Such a quick funny read! Can be done in a day, and worth it
The book is about the author Mindy and it is kind of just a dairy entry where she talks about why she as a kid was secluded and her childhood years. I really loved the book, I was really able to connect with some of the issues she faced when she was in her teenage years and i find it great to look at things from her POV. The book is first person POV and Mindy the author begins to tell us about how much she tried to fit in regardless of some issues
This is a fun, quick book to read. She talks a little bit about lots of things. I enjoyed hearing her stories.
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.

Written in 2011, many fans have already read this but if not, definitely should! Kaling is a witty, self-deprecating essayist and writer of the most hilarious episode of ‘The Office‘ involving a George Foreman mini-grill mishap. Also interesting is that Kaling wanted an all female remake of ‘Ghost Busters‘, even though she predicted there would be a male outcry against it. Maybe her prior work with a television psychic rubbed off?
Blew thru this one!! Our internet was down at work yesterday and my job revolves around it so I got to read all day!! When I went home, I sat outside and finished it off! She is hilarious!!
Book 46
I read this because I love the office. Never seen her own show though. I just couldn‘t with this book. She literally got on my nerves with her lists and I don‘t think our personalities match up.

In January I read 11books and a few fairytales. It was a good month for me❤😍

If you loved The Mindy Project and the silly flippant way that Mindy Kaling writes with in most of her TV shows this is the book for you. If you‘re hoping to find out more about her then you might be disappointed as it stays safely surface level. Quick and easy read
I‘m getting started! @maich

Things that make Mindy Kaling cry. Swear she could've been writing this book about me. #currentlyreading
#currentlyreading and relating so hard!
I laughed out loud a lot so Mindy‘s book did not disappoint. Somewhat of a memoir, Mindy captured the fly on the wall effect while reading. I just love to be a fly on the wall. Great read
My husband and I just finished watching The Office (finally). I became a little obsessed with wanting to read more by Mindy Kaling, especially after noticing how many episodes she wrote. It was a fun quick book, not the best book I‘ve ever read, but a good mindless book to read at the end of the night.
I read or listened to this several years ago, but I didn‘t remember anything about it. I love Mindy, so I knew I had liked the book. It‘s amusing to listen to her life back in 2011, when Amy Poehler was still married to Will Arnett & Mindy hadn‘t started her show yet. This is a book that will brighten your mood.
Also, I need recs for audiobooks that are 4-6 hours long. I‘m not driving much, so I can‘t finish a longer book right now. Suggestions?
I didn‘t know much about Mindy Kaling before listening to this. It had some fun observations of being an awkward adult scattered amongst her anecdotes of her childhood and her working life.
Ummmm I literally didn‘t stop this book until I finished it. Mindy is a comedic goddess and i laughed out loud most of the book. I 100% recommend this book if you like silly lists, down to earth narratives, and hilarious personal takes on just.. life stuff. But I 0% recommend because it will also break your heart when you finish it and have to come to terms with the fact that Mindy is not and will probably never be your best friend in real life.
Mindy is keeping me laughing while I pack boxes! I read these back when they came out and loved them, but listening to her read them is a whole new experience. I just love her!!! She is so freaking hilarious and smart. 💕 #audiocleaning
What a fun memoir. This world needs more funny people - and more excuses to think about what living in the orbit of The Office was like!
I thoroughly enjoyed Kaling‘s autobiography for #NFNov. She tackles topics like her childhood, being broke and unemployed, studying at Dartmouth, her immigrant parents, how to be a best friend, her body size and fashion, her hatred for sports and athletics, her selfies on her Blackberry, and directions for her funeral. This was a quick fun read.
It‘s the first of the month so here‘s my reading recap for October. Five of these books were audiobooks. #readingrecap #octoberreads #alltheaudiobooks
😂👍 I love Mindy Kaling for having the courage to share this with the world. Lol.
I'll hang out with you any day, Mindy! 😄
I‘m swamped with mindless work and audiobooks are helping me get through it. I love Mindy and this book was hilarious! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I was given this book to read by a friend and I was hesitant to read it, not that I thought it was bad, it just isn‘t normally my first choice in reading materials. It turned out to be a surprisingly good and fast read.
“Sometimes you just have to put on lipgloss and pretend to be psyched.”
Kaling is never not funny so I wasn‘t surprised to have enjoyed this book. It‘s a bit uneven, as are most collections, but when it is good it is poignant, honest, and very, very funny.
In an effort to be more active, I've tried out my first audiobook. 🍒💥 I tried reading the print version of this book and never ended up finishing it. I love Mindy but it feel flat for me. I thought this book was a much funnier in the audio version, would recommend.
I read this when it first came out and loved it. I recently got into audiobooks, and was curious about memoirs / first person books that are narrated by the author. I love Mindy Kahling, so it's no surprise that I loved listening to her narrate her book. It felt like hanging out with with my most hilarious friend.
I wanted to love this book, or at least really like it. The Boston Globe called it “Very funny” in large font on the back cover. Dammit, Boston.
I still like Mindy Kaling, and I thought her book was fun... just not really funNY.
Mindy Kaling and I share a similar concern: is everyone hanging out #withoutme ? Probably, because I'm most likely at home reading. #AMonthofSongs
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
i wish i could go back in time, not read this book, & retain the belief that mindy kaling was cool.
I didn‘t love this. It was hard for me to tell when she was serious and when she was joking. Disappointing, since this was supposed to be a #funnybook I probably should have anticipated that it wouldn‘t be my kind of humor since I was never a huge fan of The Office.
