Lyle is the chief scientist at a cosmetics company searching for a great anti-aging lotion. He ends up with something a bit different, discovering in tests that it has a major impact on the user‘s DNA. This is a faintly ludicrous book (but doesn‘t claim to be anything else), but it‘s really entertaining with some good social commentary. I give it a soft pick.

I have only two #pink books, and as I've already featured one of them, Extreme Makeover is my choice for today.

What I know of genetics from several years of biology class is that this book is plausible, which makes it extremely creepy. What if you could just slap on a cream and become a supermodel free of any genetic medical issues? We go as far as plastic surgery, what‘s a little fiddling around with DNA?

Science Fiction isn‘t one of my normal read genres, but the cover and book description caught my eye. This is a satirical look at the beauty industry and the lengths people will go to for their looks. Lyle Fontanelle accidentally creates a cloning hand lotion that has some people excited for extreme plastic surgery, others for the medical benefits, and some for political power and manipulation. The ending was a bit weak, but riveting throughout!

I had to go into the library today to renew my library card, and of course, I couldn‘t leave empty-handed!

I picked up a sci-fi novel about a cosmetic company‘s product creating clones, and Frederick Backman‘s novella!

Okay so I don't usually post selfies on here, but I just recently went through a pretty dramatic change with my hair and I kind of wanted to show it off. I went from blond💛 to blue💙 black🖤. I absolutely love it! But it's a big change. 😳

This book started out with so much potential. The concept of a beauty company creating a lotion that overwrites your DNA sounds like the set up for a horrifically, thrilling novel. However, this book could use some major editing...about 100 pages worth. 2/3's of the way through, I was just over it. No reason to keep dragging the story out and out and out. This took WAY too long to read.

Never a bad thing to have piles of books around the house.

This has been a fast, entertaining read so far! Thanks to The Nocturnal Reader's Box for sending it to me 🙂
