I am feeling very thematic today. I didn‘t plan it this way, it just happened. Not pictured: phone case design with due date slip. And I am wearing a cardigan. #librarylife #librariansoflitsy

I didn‘t read at all this weekend because we did some major spring cleaning. However, we did take some time to go see the first screening of “Change the Subject” a documentary about a group of Dartmouth students confronting anti-immigrant sentiment in the subject headings of library catalogs. They went all the way to the Library of Congress where it ignited the immigration debate on Capitol Hill. Continued ⬇️
I‘m going to be playing catch up with this! #Library30 #LibrariansofLitsy #LitsyLovesLibraries #Challenges
My best friend got me this book after I graduated with my first masters and decided to be a librarian instead. I love that it helps readers understand what exactly librarians do in this day and age, as well as breaking down the stereotypes of what a Librarian looks like (old, White, tightly wound, strict, conventional dress) #Librarians #LibrariansofLitsy #Libraries #Nonfiction #Recommendsday
Grew up loving libraries, currently work for one and wanna get my masters in library science, so of course I had to read this 😊. It didn't disappoint.
Current TBR, kinda on a pretty big non fiction kick right now. You can see my extremely varied interests 😂😍

I was inspired to dig up my first library card. I don‘t remember how old I was when I got it but I remember the feeling of being in that building. ❤️ In some ways I stepped in there and never left library land. I made a career of it!
PS: Neither I nor my family live at that address or even in that state anymore.
"Librarians are warrior princes and princesses wielding book love like swords! We are ever vigilant, curious, intelligent, and kind. Libraries are the banners that we carry proudly into the fray! Forward, ever forward!" - Susan K. McClelland
Figured I should check out this book since I work in a library! Favorite quote so far featured above.
5 ⭐️Such an inspirational book. I am so thankful for my own librarians over the years who encouraged me in my pursuit of knowledge and reading, and led me to my current path of MLS. As Arthur said, “ Having fun isn‘t hard, when you‘ve got a Library card!!
I have amazing friends and colleagues. One of them, Helene, is one of those people that always finds time to share a kind word or thoughtful gesture. She truly makes you feel special. I recently received an email informing me that she nominated me for the I Love My Librarian Award. So honored and humbled! 😃
I may look like a stereotypical librarian, but librarians are as diverse as the people they serve. This will be a great coffee table book!
Nothing like coming home from a day of working at the library to look at a bunch of librarians.
It was up to page 21 I decided, " I NEED this book." Going to read ONE more chapter than wait until my Thriftbooks copy arrives and put aside this wonderful library copy . 21 pages in and it's already such an encouragement to me and affirming WHY I want to be a librarian, even in the midst of Google, Amazon, and Kindles. As one Librarian said " Impassioned Librarians are a force to be reckoned with. We have the curiosity of a scientist , ➡️
The story about the project lending out American Dolls is my favorite so far.
GREAT NEWS!!! I start my new job as the Clift Elementary Librarian Assistant as of September 18th!!!🎉🎉 God is good, and praises for a full time job! ( ps my pup Fidel decided he wanted to grace us with a mere part of his presence in today's photo 😂)
Librarians are the ultimate search ninjas. 💙
I really enjoyed flipping through these pages, and reading all the quotes from librarians from across the world. ❤️ all of my library-loving fellow kittens should check it out. 📚
Excuse my running clothes but guess who is the new assistant circulation manager at Meredith College's Library. Me!!!!! I received the job offer late today! I am so excited as it is full time and I have my own office with a window!! This is the front of my new library!
I am visiting the Dare County Public Library on my way home from the Kill Devil Gills in the Outer Banks. It's what librarians do on vacation.
This is an inspiring read. It has a few people I know and recognize in it's pages too.
I want her dress! Where can I get that dress?
Her quote is pretty awesome, too: "Libraries can save your life; libraries will set you free."
Barnes and Noble seems to think librarians are mythical creatures. 🤔
This book was SO much fun to read and only confirmed for me the deep importance of keeping public libraries alive and thriving for generations to come.
I am LOVING this book! I am about to start my MLIS, so I am using this as my book of career advice for a reading challenge, as it is opening my eyes to many possibilities. It's a nice change after heavy reading.
One of the librarians at my town's library branch is featured in this book!! He's head of the teen room. His book selections are outstanding, but we need to have a little conversation about his comic selections (to be fair, he's gotten a lot better!! My library was the first in the whole county system to get the latest 2 Lumberjanes volumes, what a guy) 🎉 any Littens featured in this book?
•Me: purposely leaves library card/ID behind when dropping 3 tons of books off @ library so as to not be tempted to check out more.
•Me: sees 2 books I HAVE TO GET. HAVE. TO. Realizes I left card/ID home to avoid this.
•Me: begs head librarian to let me check out books w/o ID/card ~just this once~; she is not swayed until I recite card number in front of her and tell her truth about why I don't have card or ID.
•Me: has two new library books 😇
