What a fantastic and funny take on being a mom. The dramatics of the mom's being caddy and full of drama. I laughed aloud multiple times.

This book is hysterical. If you have children you know how it is when they are young. You need parents to help and nobody wants to. Jennifer says what she says and I admire her for it. Looking for a funny read check this one out.

As a former room parent and current VP of our school‘s PTO, I felt this one so hard. 😆 For some reason, I thought it was NF, so I got the audio version. I‘m happy to say it was absolutely as funny on audio as I expect it would be in print. Maybe my long streak of only listening to NF on audio is finally over!

Elizabeth2 My kids are beyond the room mom age, but I definitely served my time in that arena and am a faithful volunteer at the middle and high school. Funny how the job comes with the same struggles and the same politics, no matter where you are. 😂 #stacked #blamelitsy 4y
Megabooks Oh yeah, this is hilarious!! There‘s a sequel, which I haven‘t read yet. I love the older daughters, too! 4y

This book was just what I needed. A fun easy reading palate cleanser (that I may or may not have downloaded during legal education seminar 🤷🏻‍♀️) I started it yesterday and it went down quick. I love that the last chapter is dated the same day I finished the book. Bookish serendipity at its finest. Looking forward to the sequel, coming out in July.

Sarahreadstoomuch The sequel is why I just read this one. So fun! 5y
Lola @Sarahreadstoomuch Me, too! I skipped it when it first came out but when I saw there was going to be a sequel, I decided to go in. At least we don‘t have to wait too long for part 2! 5y
Sarahreadstoomuch @Lola right? This was a book that @i would get to” with no real agenda. But wave a sequel in my face and I‘m in. 5y

Amusing story of a mom roped into being the ‘Class Mom‘ for her son‘s kindergarten class and all the suburban housewife drama that comes with it - with a healthy side of snark.

4.5⭐️ I loved this funny little book about a kindergarten class mom with an acerbic wit. The MC has two college-age daughters from her life as a groupie, but in her 40s she‘s settled down with the local sports store owner in Overland Park, KS and had another kid.

A lot of the humor and drama remind me of Liane Moriaty, but there‘s no mystery. Just a really fun, easy read.

Meh.. some parts were funny.. The relationships between the moms felt pretty real-life to me.. but the whole “mystery” was pretty stupid and absurd.

MelissaSue81 I just saw that this is the author‘s first book, so I‘ll give her some credit. It‘s really not bad for what it‘s trying to be. 6y

This was funny sometimes, but as a whole kind of so-so. With 2 grown daughters, Jen marries for the first time, then becomes a Mom again in her early 40s. This is her story as a class mom of kindergarteners, and her own middle-age experience. Amusing

This was a funny book, and I liked it until the book got to the part after New Year‘s Day. After that, all these different things started to pile up, and all these things were happening that just didn‘t seem to go with the rest of the book. It seemed like the author was trying to do too much.

A lighter read, but it still made me think about relationships, selfishness and slippery slopes. It was funny, rude, and occasionally ridiculous, and I'm looking forward to talking about this in our book club later this year, especially so we can call out the racism that occurs a few times. Also, I live within an hour of the setting, which is always fun. :)

Well that‘s 2 days of my life I won‘t get back. I‘m glad this was a fast read so I didn‘t have to spend that much time torturing myself. This book was unfunny and boring with an unlikeable mc. I probably laughed 4 times total and not out loud. I don‘t recommend this book.

My book club wanted a quick, light read with lots of humor and that‘s exactly what we got. As my group is comprised of the current PTA president and heavy on the active PTA volunteers, we couldn‘t help but laugh at some of the shenanigans especially the email exchanges. I debated on the rating as it read exactly as promised (2* on Goodreads). The audio is narrated by the author which would‘ve added to the story in hearing her delivery.

Sigh. Just a smidge over “so-so”. Probably the most enjoyable part to me is that it takes place in Kansas City, where I live, so I recognize a lot of the restaurants she mentions. Protagonist is an older mom who is occasionally funny, but often comes off as rude and even racist. The character stereotyping in the book is pretty tired, too. The places and things the author tries to make sound hip are just...not. It‘s a mildly amusing, quick read.

This one jumped out at me from my library‘s display. I work at a school, and I was looking for something light and humorous, so what could be better? I did laugh out loud at some of the shenanigans in which Jen Dixon, kindergarten class mom, found herself entangled. All in all- I found Class Mom to be a quick, entertaining read. #LitsyAtoZ #TheLetterC

“Threats and bribes are the only two ways I know how to parent.” 😆🙋🏼‍♀️

This is what I was hoping for - an easy, fun little palate cleanser. It took a minute to warm to Jen, but once I did, I realized we have similar personalities (not the promiscuous 20s, but the momming and general attitude). You can‘t take much of what she says seriously, but you know she means well.

The dynamics of parents of a class of kindergarteners make for a fun, light audiobook listen. The protagonist is a witty and sarcastic older-than-normal parent of a kindergartener. The emails that she sends to organize classroom activities are funny and a very clever character development device. The author‘s narration of the audiobook is entertaining.
