Did more Library Reading than bookspin reading, so no bingo for me! But I did manage to finish the #bookspin (tagged) - at the last minute. I read the whole thing yesterday! Also managed the #doublespin - Convenience Store Woman.

Excited for the month's reading ahead! Trickster's Choice is a new to me book from a favorite author, and Convenience Store Woman is one that I'm going in with vague good vibes, but I know very little about.

Aly is young and intelligent and aspires to be a spy in the service of her father.

I rewatched Maleficent today as I‘m off to see the sequel with my little sister later - and I‘d kind of forgotten all about Diaval... which is a shame as the actor totally won me over in P&P & Zombies and well a crow/raven human hybrid does bring me back to this delightful book by Tamora Pierce! So this review (of sorts) made me laugh! (The reviewer is no fan of Prince Philip!)

Life happened all over the place for a couple of weeks here, so I'm a bit behind on my monthly reading goal, but I'm nearly done with this fun fantasy and looking forward to starting the sequel!

Trickster‘s Reread? Time to combat a book slump!
pickI love the world that Tamora Pierce has created. I listen to the audiobooks and the narration is just spot on.
so-soI love the Tortall series and how Pierce explores realistic political and social arenas of her geography, like the racial consequences of colonialism in the Copper Isles here, but the beginning of this book was too clunky and plot-driven instead of really getting into Aly and her character. As always, Numair and Daine are the best part of this book because SHAPECHANGING BABY!

I may have surprised my Mum with my loud squee of excitement but whatever 😎 I played it cool at the register! One of the few good things about weekend work (aside for catching up with Mum for brunch) is the chance to check out the op-shops for books!
