1. Sometimes! I can figure out how to use technology but not how it works.
2. Tagged!
#MotivationalMonday 1. Lunch at Benihana with husband and 2 college sons for 2nd year in a row! 2. I can‘t really think of any, but I usually plan it that way 3. Difficult to pick from so many, but the tagged book is definitely one

Rereading before going to see this at Stratford next week. I'd forgotten a lot, and having never seen the movies I have no reinforcement of the imagery so it'll be interesting on stage. #36-2023
I had never read this book in my youth for some reason & I threw it into my May mix for a Kindle reading challenge prompt. It was just OK for me—I found the story convoluted, the dialogue wooden & there was a bit too much of a push on religion for my taste & Meg got on my nerves. Will I someday read the next book(s)? Maybe. On the plus side, it was a quick read & I am happy to have ticked it off my list.🤷🏻♀️
I‘m sorry to say that this book didn‘t hook me the way I expected it to. I can appreciate how well it is written and the potential impact it would have for young readers, but I kept getting shared by the “issues.” Maybe you should read it when you‘re young?
In elementary school, I was in the lower reading levels and never had the opportunity to read this book. 20 years later, and I have finally gotten around to reading it. This book is just plain timeless. It is so incredibly well written. The characters are beautiful in their own unique ways. And I really appreciated the themes of love and family. Sad that the darkness is still relevant today… but definitely well worth the read!

Like: the mix of sci-fi, fantasy, (gentle) horror. Dislike: the overall simplicity of the plot, the completely anticlimactic ending. It‘s okay.
Reading location: the beach.
I enjoyed listening to the audiobook of this book!!! This was my first time ever reading this book. I don't remember reading it when I was in school. Probably because how I was raised too. I loved it!!! I rated the book a 4 out of 5 stars!!!
I have chosen a childhood favourite which still holds up well for #LetterW in the #alphabetgame

Read this in 5th grade and didn‘t pick up on the religious elements. Mentally putting this in a category with chronicles of narnia now.
I'll never forget the thrill of this book --or my fascination for the tesseract!

1. I would travel forward to see what future wonders we might have.
2. I still love A Wrinkle in Time and the characters within the book.

"Life, with its rules, its obligations, and its freedoms, is like a sonnet: You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself." - Mrs. Whatsit
I don‘t get it. Couldn‘t follow it. I just couldn‘t envision what was written so I‘ll watch the movie sometime. It didn‘t make sense. Do I need to read all the others for it to make sense? It‘s supposed to have Christian overtones; at first it seemed to be the exact opposite then … nek minnit … guardian angels and bible verses? The characters were so bland. I‘m sorry, just couldn‘t with this. Sorry if it‘s your favourite book. Maybe it‘s me.
The Library of America is having a sale on boxed sets. No affiliation. Just thought people here might be interested.

This is a great story for autumn with its beautiful prose about that season. It has some really weird Christian references that I didn‘t really see adding to the story (the story would be just as good without them) and possibly even detracting from it a bit. This is quite an adventure that is certainly worth the time. I love that the same groups that went after this book also burned the Harry Potter books.
This made me think of Good Omens… such a different book from this one.

Re-reading one of my childhood favorites. I remember having this Dell Yearling edition of the book with the yellow cover. When I was growing up, my parents would take me to bookstores, and most of the time they would buy me a book. I was very fortunate. 💛📚 #childrens #kidlit #fantasy
I saw the film first and never read this as a kid. I wouldn't have seen myself so much at Meg's or Calvin's age but as an adult, I cried quite a bit. This was super sci fi for me and I'm not sure I can even properly explain what happened! Ultimately, all you need is love. ❤ Love is all you need.

Cue the waterworks! I barely made it through the introduction!!! I never read this as a kid and I'm terrified of it as an adult because I sobbed through the entire movie. 😬

I know this is a YA book that's been around for a long time. Don't ask me how I've never read it, I have no idea. What a good book! Loved almost everything about it except some of the God references. What a sweet little read.
So much has been said about this book that it‘s hard to add much. I didn‘t know about this book as a kid (why?!) but I could see how it would foster a love of reading. I teared up at the end, it came together so quickly but so powerfully. I will be continuing the series!
1) Kennedy‘s , JFK & Robert, Martin Luther King assassinations; Vietnam War
2) now that our library is open full time, the library. Closest bookstore 10+ miles away.
3)Nursery rhymes-Mother Goose when I was little. I loved rhyme.
I‘m a day late, but still wanted to play!
1. I have a distinct memory of being at my best friend‘s house and her dad telling us that we were going to war in the Persian Gulf (I was 9). I also distinctly remember the Branch Davidian compound on fire during the Waco siege when I was 11.
2. Definitely the library!!
3. So many. A Wrinkle in Time; Ramona Quimby, Age 8; Superfudge; Babysitters Club; and then Stephen King in my early teens.
#WondrousWednesday @Eggs
1. 9/11 was the first major event in my lifetime. I was only 9 and didn't quite understand what happened but I knew it was significant.
2. Library - I get a ton of my books from Libby and hoopla
3. There were plenty of children's books when I was little but the first book that I remember absolutely loving was A Wrinkle in Time. We were reading it in school a little at a time but I read ahead and finished it way early
1. 9/11 was very memorable, but I was grown-up at that time. I remember my mom making us sit and watch Nixon's resignation and I also remember the Challenger shuttle disaster. And I'm dating myself. I'm getting very good at that lately! 😂
2. Definitely the library! I do not have the budget to buy as many books as I want to read!

Loved this book as a kid and hadn‘t read it since, so this was a lovely, nostalgic read for me. Even though as an adult it was easier to spot its “issues” I still felt the same sense of enchantment I did long ago!
My June #bookspin and #bookspinbingo list is prepared. I have put only middle grade books on the list this month because I am taking part in #whateverthon and joined teamed Middle Grade Monarchs. ❤ Most of these middle grade books have been on my shelf for a while, so I'm excited to finally read them.
