Everyone has a purpose. And, according to Oprah Winfrey, Your real job in life is to figure out as soon as possible what that is, who you are meant to be, and begin to honor your calling in the best way possible. That journey starts right here. In her latest book, The Path Made Clear, Oprah shares what she sees as a guide for activating your deepest vision of yourself, offering the framework for creating not just a life of success, but one of significance. The books ten chapters are organized to help you recognize the important milestones along the road to self-discovery, laying out what you really need in order to achieve personal contentment, and what lifes detours are there to teach us. Oprah opens each chapter by sharing her own key lessons and the personal stories that helped set the course for her best life. She then brings together wisdom and insights from luminaries in a wide array of fields, inspiring readers to consider what theyre meant to do in the world and how to pursue it with passion and focus. Renowned figures such as Eckhart Tolle, Brene Brown, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Elizabeth Gilbert, Jay-Z, and Ellen DeGeneres share the greatest lessons from their own journeys toward a life filled with purpose. Paired with over 100 awe-inspiring photographs to help illuminate the wisdom of these messages, The Path Made Clear provides readers with a beautiful resource for achieving a life lived in service of your calling whatever it may be.

Wow so this left me in tears and I came here to see what other people said about it and saw ... “coffee table book”. I do believe that books affect us differently at different times and I think that I found this at a very right time because I‘ve been 👎 for a while. I wasn‘t expecting a lot but there was so much inspiration packed into those 3 hrs and I need to listen to it again. Sometimes we need reminding that we‘re enough ❤️

This has merit but the montage style gives you only a brief taste of wisdom from each voice. I‘d find it more effective if there were less blips and more stories or engagement with the interviewees. That said, there are powerful words here and inspired me to further investigate the VIPs featured such as Eckhart Tolle

This was a good little coffee table read, nothing too crazy. I enjoyed it, it has some really nice quotes and the photos are beautiful. It's not riveting or ground breaking but I did like it more than I thought I would.

This was...fine? I ❤️ Oprah and many of her famous friends that contributed to this but I‘m just too damn jaded and cynical for this type of book. I started the new year reading a few pages every morning first thing which was fine but I found myself wanting more substance. It‘s definitely a “coffee table” type book. Also, WAY too heavy on God if you‘re not into that. I‘m grateful to my BFF for sending me this, BUT 👇🏼

MicheleinPhilly you‘re just going to have to continue putting up with my grumpy, bitchy ass. 😘 5y

cathipink I felt the same way about this book. Only so many pithy sayings until I sprain an eyeball from too much rolling. 5y

Reggie Have you ever read Marlo Thomas‘s The Right Words at the Right Time. Where she sent letters to a bunch of her celebrity friends asking for a definitive moment in their life. I think you might like them because not all of them are positive. It took a teacher telling Muhammad Ali he would never be anything to be the person he was. Just, you know, if you have absolutely nothing to read. 5y
MicheleinPhilly @TrishB The only remotely self help book I‘ve enjoyed (admittedly I‘ve probably read 3) was Dan Harris‘ book on meditation because it was also a memoir of his career as a journalist and he is a snarkaholic like me. 5y
MicheleinPhilly @cathipink There were people that I would have enjoyed hearing more from instead of a 3 question “interview” or few sentence paragraph that ultimately offered only surface level “Hang in there baby” poster platitudes. 5y

This was a gorgeous book and ❤️ how Oprah distilled her interviews from over the years to inspiration & key pieces of insight. I find each story fascinating as it relates to their personal journey.

Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I just wanted more... there were plenty of motivating sound bites and a sprinkling of seeds for deeper personal reflection, but it lacked the degree of specificity and clarity for which I‘d hoped.

I would have liked to see more words of wisdom from Oprah herself. And I feel like there was a lot of under utilized space in this book. Like a picture book with some quotes. But it was inspirational none the less. Between a pick and a so-so but choosing pick because...Oprah 💜

Oprah is an amazing human being. But I find myself wishing for a rating between a pick and a so-so. I listened to the audiobook and loved the format , Oprah read the main text and her guests read their quotes. But it really reminded me of the audiobook of The Secret, in fact a couple of voices were the same in both books. Overall a good message but nothing new. I respect and admire Oprah so I‘m going with pick.

BarbaraTheBibliophage Great review. It tells me what I need to know. Thanks! 6y

So, the hubs and I went to Costco today. Along with all the usual stuff, I snagged these two books. I think the tagged book will be a gift to my Mama and the Backman will join others on my #neverendingtbr!

MemoirsForMe I‘m way behind on my Bachman reads too. And I loved Ove! I guess too many other books are distracting me. 😆 6y
PurpleyPumpkin @UwannaPublishme I still haven‘t read Ove! Hard to believe, I know, but there are just so many books out there!📚 6y
marleed I just finished Things My Son... I absolutely loved it. I‘m going to be gifting it often this year. 6y

I loved listening to this book! In each chapter she talks a little, and then you get to hear her favorite quotes from people she‘s interviewed. A lot of great advice and wisdom. I‘m excited to listen to another one of her books.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.

Should have waited for it to become available at the library but was so excited I bought it and was disappointed. The whole book was just snippets of Super Soul Sunday Ah Ha's... not saying some were good life tips but really thought she was writing an original book.

This book is essentially a collection of inspirational quotes that support Oprah's perspectives. It is short and would be nice to give as a gift, especially to someone who is daunted by long books as this could be put down and picked back up again and won't take too long to get through even if reading it that way.

It‘s short & sweet. Not lots revolutionary new stuff but rather a good summary of songs that‘s meditation to your heart. To get the most out of it, I‘d suggest you grab the audio version of the book. I just enjoy listening to Oprah. And it‘s good to hear the original interviews where these quotes in the book took place, to pick up their good energy. 😊 #Oprah #whodoesntlikeoprah

I did not care for this book. It was a lot of quotes and bits from other people. There was more stuff about god then I was comfortable with. I didn‘t take anything away from it.

Okay, fine - I‘ll admit there‘s not much that‘s new in this (especially if you watch/listen to Super Soul Sunday, because the audio is mostly a bunch of thematically organized clips from that). But that doesn‘t mean it‘s not profound or valuable. It‘s a short and sweet book, or a long and lovely meditation.
