Moon Sister
Moon Sister | Lucinda Riley
A USA TODAY BESTSELLER From New York Times bestselling author Lucinda Riley, this sweeping and majestic tale transports you to the grandeur of the remote Scottish Highlands and Madrid torn apart by civil war as two women bound across time and distance search for the truth of their place in the world. Tiggy D'Aplise spends her days reveling in the raw beauty of the Scottish Highlands, where she works at a deer sanctuary. But when the sanctuary is forced to close, she must take a job as a wildlife consultant on the vast and isolated estate of the elusive and troubled Charlie Kinnaird. She has no idea that the move will not only irrevocably alter her future, but also bring her face-to-face with her past. At the estate, she meets Chilly, an elderly Romani man who fled from Spain seventy years before. He tells her that not only does she possess a sixth sense passed down from her ancestors, but it was foretold long ago that he would be the one to send her back home. Back in 1912, in the poor Romani community outside the city walls of Granada, Luca Amaya-Albaycin is born. Her mother is devastated when Luca is whisked away by her ambitious father at the tender age of ten to dance in the flamenco bars of Barcelona. And while Luca perfects her passionate performances--eventually becoming the greatest flamenco dancer of her generation--tensions in Spain boil over into civil war, forcing Luca and her troupe of dancers to flee for their lives. As they travel in search of a safe haven, Luca's long-held dream of going to New York may be in grasp. But to pursue it, she must choose between her love for her career and the man she adores. Featuring Lucinda Riley's "addictive storytelling with a moving, emotional heart" (Dinah Jefferies), The Moon Sister follows these two women on their journey to discover their true futures--but at the risk of potentially losing the men they had hoped to build futures with.

This might be my least favourite book so far.
I really loved Tiggy's story, but I detested every second I had to spend with the self absorbed Lucía. Se drove me nuts, and sadly the majority of the book focused on her.

I'm very curious about the basement in Atlantis....

I‘m trying to complete the Seven Sisters series by the end of the year - it could go into January, I don‘t know. I‘m reading The Moon Sister right now, then I have The Sun Sister, The Missing Sister and lastly PA Salt. These books are so good. @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

Yet another brilliantly readable book from Riley. Each time I read a new installment of the Seven Sisters series I enjoy them just a little bit more. I loved following Tiggy's story from the wilds of Scotland to the ancient Gitano community in Granada. Very immersive and enjoyable.

I just finished the 5th book in Lucinda Riley's The Seven Sisters series. In this wonderful adventure, we meet yet another one of the extraordinary sisters and first travel to the remote wilds of Scotland and then continue our journey in Spain. Yet another fantastic book in this series ⭐

Crazeedi I adore this series! Read the sun sister a couple months ago! Cant wait for the next one 4y
Yoricke_SouthAfrica @Crazeedi So do I!! 'm starting on The Sun Sister now. Can't believe I've reached the "last" book. Really can not wait for the next book... especially considering all the suspense ? 4y
Crazeedi @Yoricke_SouthAfrica enjoy! I know, I'm anxious to know the secret of the missing sister!! 4y

I love this Seven Sisters series! That being said, this was not my favorite installment, but I'm giving it a pick because this book is moving the whole story along and I really enjoyed the historical sections. The modern day part of the story didn't do much for me.
The next book comes out in May 😁

Lucinda Riley does it again, I just love the Seven Sisters series, and this one kept up the really high standard of the other books, despite initially think it might not do so. I should have far more faith. We are getting closer and closer to finding out about the seventh sister with book 6 published later this year. Just can‘t get enough of this series & think I will read them all again once the final book is published! What are you waiting for!

Crazeedi This was a great one! I was confused for a minute, I thought this was her new one, but it hasn't come out yet, I can't wait for book 6!! 5y
Crazeedi Btw do you have any thoughts on sister 7?? All I know is that in the first book when the story was back in time in Paris, there was a boy taken in for a bit by one of the characters, who told the boy I'll always be here for you, do you remember this scene? I'm a little unsure about the whole part, but Ammmm 5y
Crazeedi (Sorry my post went before I finished) I remember thinking that urchin is the dad 5y

jdiehr I love this series as well. My book club read book 1 and thought, like you, that the boy was a young Pa Salt. 5y
Andrew65 @Crazeedi I do remember that and agree with @jdiehr that this could have been a Young pa salt. I definitely with feel the need to read books 1 - 6 to see if can work things out before reading book 7. Presumably that will be published in the fall of 2020. 5y
ephemeralwaltz I still haven't gotten to this one but oh boy! 5y
Andrew65 @ephemeralwaltz For some reason it took me a long time to actually get to it too. The next one is due out next month in the U.K. (edited) 5y
Crazeedi @jdiehr 👍 yes 5y
Crazeedi @Andrew65 I am thinking I should maybe reread, even though I never do that, for the same reason you're saying 5y

I feel like I'm reading these books out of obligation now than anything else :) I would say books in these series are going downhill... Every following book is weeker and weeker. Characters were either over dramatic and lame or dithering. The were a lot of episodes where motivation made no sense.

Another great story about Tiggy, who has a connection to the spirit world, to healing of creatures. Her gitano heritage is brought to life in book 5 of the seven sisters Saga. All I can say is read this series.

RvnclawWhovian Ooohhhh this series looks right up my alley! 6y
Crazeedi @RvnclawWhovian it is excellent, every book is one of the adopted sister's search for her roots. Each is totally different 6y

I‘m third in the queue now for The Moon Sister, wouldn‘t have been 14th if I went for the physical book. Hopefully means I‘ll have it over the Christmas break when I want to read it so no interruptions to my reading of it!

One of my favourite series. If you‘ve not read the Seven Sisters series you don‘t know what you‘re missing!

GatheringBooks i bailed on book 2 😭 but hope to come back to it soonish, i hope. 6y
Andrew65 @GatheringBooks That‘s my favourite one but really had my emotions all over the place. Think I cried a bucket. 6y

Andrew65 @ephemeralwaltz How about if we aimed to start it on 27th December @Eadieb (edited) 6y
Andrew65 @EadieB This gives you plenty of time to catch up Eadie, but these books stand up very well on their own providing you have read the context from the first book which I know you have. @ephemeralwaltz 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 I‘m doing a Kristin Hannah buddy read starting on the 26th but I think I can handle both books! 6y
ephemeralwaltz True!! You can read the first and then you could read them in any order! They all stem from the same moment. The 27th sounds great! 6y
EadieB @Andrew65 @ephemeralwaltz I may have to drop out as Moon Sister is not published in US until February 19 2019 and NetGalley hasn‘t offered it yet. I will check other book sellers and see if I can get a book. Maybe NetGalley will have it available soon. 6y

My most anticipated book of 2018 is The Moon Sister, Book 5 in the brilliant Seven Sisters Series by Lucinda Riley. There is no cover art published yet (at least I think that is the case) so have used the cover art from the previous books. Lucinda Riley is definitely one of my favourite women authors. Thoroughly recommended.

This is due to be published in November 2018.

ephemeralwaltz Yes yes yes 👏👏 can't wait 6y
