Hi All! I‘ve just sent everyone on my team a little token of my appreciation for your patience with me. I‘m very sorry, but I just can‘t keep up with this round‘s reading schedule. It‘s no one‘s fault but my own, so I‘m sending Lace and 10,000 Doors on unread by me. I have had a difficult year and even though reading is my escape and my passion, my responsibilities took up all of my personal reading time. I‘m deeply sorry to let my team down!!

I had a bit of trouble at the start, there were so many characters to figure out who was who and how they related to each other. Half way through, I figured out the majority of them. There was a lot going on in this story. I did like the storyline with Sophya and the cop. I also liked the setting of Salem. Overall, I really liked this. I was surprised at the ending and it‘s one where I feel like I should go back and reread, knowing what I know now

Lace reading--a family mystery--a woman's mind. I enjoyed this novel.

Soup, salad and Salem.

This novel was just 'okay' for me. Interesting enough that I plan to read the 2nd book in the series (The Fifth Petal), but not so much that I'll be thinking about the characters in the meantime.

Overall I enjoyed this book, 3 1/2 stars. The story was great, but not spectacular. I really enjoyed pulling in the Salem Witches into this novel. I liked it well enough to move to the 2nd book next.

First read of March!

I love this book! I'm almost glad I had to have the, uh, "welcome to your 50s" screening done because it gave me lots of time to read! ?

I wanted to like this one far better than I did. I like the concept but the writing seemed to go in circles at times. The lace readers were cool but they never really seemed to have much relevance to the story.

Started reading The Lace Reader last night while watching the game. And oh wow, what a game! Love my Clemson Tigers! Now to finish this book... still not sure where this book is going.

My turn to work book group tonight, which means I get to sit in a corner and read while they discuss their selections.

My copies came in two days before I expected! I can't wait to dive in.

Intriguing, but it left me with so many questions...

Brunonia Barry has a unique way of story telling. I enjoy her style of writing and the way her stories come together and get clear in the end. Although I much better like her second novel, this was decent.

I loved her other book so here we go! #fridaynightread

I work at a library, so I'm always conflicted about buying books, but @bookriot Deal of the Day makes me weak about 5 days out of 7. Anyone else have "library employee guilt" about buying books?
