Visiting the Haunted Mansion at Disney World as a 9-year-old is one of my favorite memories. So I enjoyed this graphic novel for the nostalgia. Is this a riveting story? Well, have any of the adaptations been that great? The answer is yes, Muppets Haunted Mansion (also the movie with Eddie Murphy was pretty good). My favorite part of this was the art, especially the pieces between chapters. So fans, it‘s worth it, just don‘t expect too much

JoeMo I‘ll just add it‘s worth it if you can borrow this through your library in its physical form or via an app like Hoopla. I wouldn‘t spend $ on it though. #hauntedshelf #trappedinaspookyhouse #bookspinbingo 2mo

I‘ve had to think of some #Halloween films that are okay to watch while my 11-year old‘s awake, and this one is okay...‘The Haunted Mansion‘ has a lovely spooky ghost and haunted house tale in it, and it‘s kind of funny (it is Eddie Murphy, after all). Maybe I‘ll read the graphic novel next though?
Then I‘ll need something scarier again 💀

CaroPi Have you watch the goosebumps series or the new movies? They will be great for an 11 years old 6y
kamoorephoto @CaroPi We loved the movie with Jack Black (actually he‘s one of my son‘s favorites to watch in movies), but the series is a great idea!! I forgot we should rewatch the movie anyway! 6y
CaroPi The good thing is that if he likes the series he can go for the books. I enjoy them a lot when I was younger 6y

I LOVE the Haunted Mansion ride at Disneyland and was super intrigued by the idea of a graphic novel set in that world. I was ready to forgive all kinds of messes bc I‘m so sentimentally attached to the ride. But even though the artwork is beautiful, the story fell flat (hard). No amount of buy-in could get me past the floppy plot.

A very cute, quick read, this is an absolute treat for Disney fans! All the iconic legends about the mansion, as well as the most recognizable ghosts, make an appearance in this tale of a living teen who is pulled into the mansion to find the treasure within. I enjoyed it much more than the comics that came out about 10 years ago. And who wouldn't love this adorable cover with the stretching portraits and hitchhiking ghosts?

LOTS of references to the ride and the Disney parks in here. The story isn't awful but what can you expect from a comic about The Haunted Mansion? It's a fun little trip! It makes me even more upset that I've never seen Haunted Mansion Holiday, though... 🎃🎄👻

Went to the library for the book sale & it wasn't worth our time. So depressing when that happens!!! Luckily, my husband picked up a few graphic novels and found this one for me! #HauntedMansion #Disney

Anyone else keep a handwritten list of all the books read in a year? My little journal goes back through 2014 and I plan on continuing it until I run out of pages!

CouchCrewChief That's crazy! I usually get 10-15 books in a year. Not a crazy amount but I absolutely love taking my time going through each one. 10y
mllemay Yup! Just started this year and I find it really motivating. 10y
TheNextBook I have an excel file that I keep updated. I saw on Book Riot a reallh detailed on and copied that. Page count, dates read, rating, genre. I love it! I just finished 36 for the year! Keep going it looks great! 10y

CherylDeFranceschi Honestly, I've been doing this since June, 1980! The handwritten list, not an excel sheet. 10y
maximoffs @CouchCrewChief Everyone gets to things in their own time! I just have always read really really quickly. @mllemay my journal is reading themed which helps, but yeah! I love writing it down to know exactly where I am in my goals 10y
maximoffs @TheNextBook ah that is super detailed! I find comfort in the simplicity in a way haha! But that's so cool. Sometimes I feel like I cheat because I include comics but...they're reading material! 10y
maximoffs @CherylDeFranceschi that's my goal! Is to someday have this little journal full of all the books I've read. Think it would be a really cool piece of personal history. 10y
TheNextBook @stormborn thats legitimate reading material!!!! 10y
CherylDeFranceschi @stormborn It is so great! I can look at and remember where I was when read something, or what I read in the hospital when I had my daughter. It's a pretty cool little legacy! 10y
maximoffs @TheNextBook I tend to add books so 5 comics only count as one but I might stop coming down on comics 🙈 @CherylDeFranceschi oh I LOVE THAT I can't wait for that. 10y
Gezemice I keep my books on Goodreads. Very handy. I review them all - well, in the last year I started doing it. I find it is a nice closure to summarize my thoughts about it. 10y
ReadingOver50 I started keeping a list over 10 years ago. In 2011 I started using Goodreads and have been very happy with them. 10y
maximoffs @Gezemice @ReadingOver50 I enjoy goodreads too! But I find something special about handwriting my list too 10y
Gezemice @stormborn I agree that handwriting is special. I should do it more often! That said, if I hand wrote my list, I would surely lose it. 10y
emilyesears I keep track of mine on Goodreads, but my 91-year-old has been keeping notebooks on the books she's read since 1987!! She showed me the most recent one over Easter and it was quite interesting. 10y
emilyesears Ack my 91-year-old Grandma 10y
maximoffs @emillyesears that is SO COOL I want to do that. 10y
Ukulelebob For some reason I can't bring myself to write things down. 10y
maximoffs @Ukulelebob I love this little notebook. It's the only thing I've really stuck with 10y
Ukulelebob It's a pretty awesome idea 10y
HollyB3 I've had a note on my phone that documents each reading year since 2012. I wish I had done it sooner. @stormborn 10y
Jamesmelvinmitchell I love to do that! 10y
maximoffs @HollyB3 I could probably have gone back farther thanks to goodreads but I started when I bought my little notebook. @Jamesmelvinmitchell isn't it cool to look back? 10y
Jamesmelvinmitchell @stormborn I just love to go back and relive just a bit a book I really enjoyed. I also take that list when I go to the book store and shop. 10y
Julian.Wotherspoon I do! I make notes and record my thoughts and who I would recommend it too. 10y
maximoffs @Julian.Wotherspoon that is such a good idea! @Jamesmelvinmitchell I have a bad habit of scanning most of the books I want into my goodreads if it's not my favourite indie bookstore 10y
TheMistbornReader This is really cool! So far I use Goodreads. :) But I may have to do this too! 10y
kammartinez I keep a spreadsheet: one in Excel and another, duplicate one in Google Docs. That way, at the end of every year I can crunch my data and make pretty charts and graphs to visually represent my reading data in a year XD. 10y
maximoffs @TheMistbornReader I have the coolest little journal. It has quotes from authors and book illustrations. It's amazing. @kammartinez that's so cool!!! 10y
InLibrisVeritas I mostly use goodreads, but i do keep a notebook with all the books I plan to read each month. It's usually short since I do a lot of mood reading but it's nice to see what I have coming up without the computer 10y
maximoffs @InLibrisVeritas interesting that you do a tbr written list! That's cool! 10y
erinnhill Yep! And I keep a handwritten review journal as well. :) 10y
anotherbookgirl I've just been using goodreads, but I miss having a handwritten book journal. I write more of my thoughts about the book when I don't feel I have to edit it for public consumption or worry about author's feelings. I just bought a new notebook to start book journaling again. 10y
Seonjoon I totally keep a handwritten list! I tried to keep a spreadsheet once, but I'm thoroughly analog at heart. 10y
maximoffs @erinnhill there's something magical about being able to turn the page and see what you read. @anotherbookgirl I've never book journaled! I try but I think I need to process my thoughts before I really review something. @Seonjoon amen to that! 10y
AmyG I have written down every book I have read since May 10, 1974. 10y
innianna I only have it on my phone, but soon I will write it down in a notebook 😊 10y
LauraLeah I used to do this but then started putting all on goodreads. I have thought of doing this again. A nice memento. 10y
maximoffs @AmyG oh my gosh I love this. @innianna you should!! Get a cute book themed one @LauraLeah you should!!! 10y
LibrarianRyan I did but after 4 journals full I moved to goodreads. It was easier. Plus easier to find if I had already read a book. 10y
AmyG You inspired me to post my list! 10y
Desirai I hand wrote my TBR list but the rest is on GoodReads. 10y

When the guy at the comic store says that Marvel had to do a reprint of issue one because it sold that fast, you of course by issues 1-3

Ukulelebob That sounds like a reasonable plan 10y
