I've been listening to this as an audiobook.
We were introduced to new strong characters and different parts of the world, the witches, the fae and the rebells. All new characters were so complex and interesting, it's beautiful. and meanwhile I never lost the connection to the "old set" of characters! So many feelings, so much happening!

The Raven King was a beautiful wrap up of the series, with more depth to more characters and the right amount of joy, sadness and everything. The writing stats really strong and unique and meaningful? ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

I love how ptsd is a main topic in Mockingjay, in a lot of ya novels the main characters seem to be perfectly okay with killing people, here you see the real aftermath.
The audiobook was nice!

The third installment in The Raven Chronicles is the best one yet! ???
Even though there are more magical elements than before, MS didn't forget the "normal" lives of the main characters such as consequences of decisions they made in the last novel. We get to know former minor characters more and are introduced to new ones.
It is magical, mysterious, witty, sarcastic and lovely. A masterpiece! ???

Looking for Alaska was banned in a lot of school because of sexual content in the form of a "unerotic blow job scene" as John Green put it. While reading Blue Lily, Lily Blue and listening to the Audiobook of Heir of Fire I also started reading Doctor Thorne on the @SerialReader App, I'm loving the concept so far!

#translatedbook because I can read Latin, but not READ it as in properly reading a book 😅 only with a dictionary and in paragraphs not chapters. And with a lot of thinking if it's more complicated Latin.
A great book because it started the utopia/dystopia genre (even though Platon was first with Republica) but it drags on and on in some long description, even though it is very interesting nevertheless.

I don't think that a lot of people know about the sequels of The Giver. The other two, Gathering Blue and Messenger are not set in the same community, they are more of a parallel story, but the first part of this one is, so I believe this is the real sequel.

A pretty good story, dystopian, exploring the relationship between mother and son.

I read this for school. It is not bad, but I think it drags a lot of the time and there are weirdly long paragraphs about nothing. I like the overall idea and all the different interpretation possibilities and the relations between the characters though. I really don't know how to rate it...

Most of these are romance/growing up novels, but there's also some sci-fi, classic and fantasy in there 💙💙📚📘📘📘

Even though I think ToG is a bit more gripping, Crown of Midnight is a great second novel. More magic and history as well as friendship and rebellions.
Maybe it was just my book slump and I would've enjoyed it more at another time?

In my opinion, this in an #uglycover not the general layout, I like the covers of most of the other books in the series, but the photograph of the guy looks like it belongs on one of these romance, bad-boy-good-girl novels everyone is bored of, not that House of Night doesn't have these aspects in it too, but I don't think it's the best cover for it 😁 and the further on in the series, the worse the plot lines get I think #somethingforsept

iBoy was the first book I read in English (I'm German) in 7/8th grade I think. It was easy enough to understand for me at that time and appropriate for that age as well.
Tom gets hit by an iPhone and some parts of it are left in his brain which enables him to search on the Internet. He uses that to fight against problems in his neighborhood

Very informative, very touching. It feels like a first hand experience of the French Revolution, but at the same time a portrait of London at that time. Although it dragged in some parts, I liked it a lot!

I just CANT decide which of these was my #augustfavourite but as I put my august wrap up to The Raven Boys, for #somethingforsept I'm going to say Throne of Glass. Both are amazing first novels of a series, tog is badass high fantasy, while The Raven Boys has more mythology/leylines/ghosts and is in more of a high school setting even though not really.

I'm swept away by a story, a world and amazing characters! I adored Celaena's voice from the beginning, her sass and heartiness, her intelligence and sweetness. Dorian, Chaol and Nehemia are also so complex and amazing, I can't describe it. This Story ist about killing or rebellion, love or magic or court life, but about Celaena, her strength and values.
I can already see glimpses of the greater picture, i.e. book 2-5...

I read Huis clos for my advanced French class and even though I did not understand everything-we will discuss it in class and then I will😄-it was pretty good.
It's existentialism and shows a place where hell is not a place of physical torture. There are only four characters one of which is minor and one room they are in.

The Invention of Hugo Cabret is definitely an #underhypedbook as it is so beautiful and touching. Set 100 years ago when moving pictures were still new and clocks had to be worked manually, Hugo is an orphan tending the clocks in place of his abusive uncle who died some months ago. He has to steal his food and supplies. But he befriends a girl who may help him out. n 1/3 drawings 2/3 text, Selznick created a masterpiece!

Of course Zoe is not a professional writer, so it's not entirely perfect, but it deals well with anxiety and internet fame and dangers and is a perfectly adequate teenage read!

A perfectly good audiobook to listen to, not too long and even though it dragged on sometimes, really interesting because of jumps around the timeline and a lot of interesting characters, the most complex of course Miss Brodie. It is a tale of growing up under an influence, of images of people which might not be fully true and 30s schools and women.

Oh I almost forgot to review this absolute gem💎 I feel like 95.8% of the book community have read and loved it before I did, and it totally lived up to the expectations!
Every character is complex with a backstory and different layers and the plot is constantly intriguing, such a page turner! Mythology and tarot cards are a part of it and the romance is not cheesy nor like every other. I actually was in Wales while reading part of it💙👻🔮💵🔦🔫
