Just wanted to put out a PSA in case any of you are considering a subscription service to join. Literati has changed how they do things without announcing it, then lied about it and gaslit me when I inquired about what was happening. They‘ve significantly limited how many additional books you can buy along with your month‘s book by only making some books available for purchase and doing so around 5 days after the books are announced for that 👇🏼
4⭐️
Honestly best $5 I‘ve spent in a long time.
Really fun book where a group of women spent their lives reading whatever they want in their book club. They used it explore themselves, their sexuality, and life as a whole. Now that they‘re all retired, they pasted the book club on to the next general and it couldn‘t have been a more chaotic transition!

I had a hard time choosing this month, so I may have to pick up The Night Swim and The Death of Vivek Oji next month. I already had The Vanishing Half in my cart before the August books were released because I loved Bennett‘s The Mothers. #botm
#ispy a book that is red
Thanks for the tag @AmyG
@nelehelen can you spy a book that is green?
Oh my! This book was just so fantastic! Though the book revolves around a secret book club that reads provocative romance books, the book is mainly about friendship. It was exactly the type of book I needed to read.
This was a quick read, light and full of heart. The premise of this book centers around female friendships and learning to be honest with yourself and your friends. Through the books they read (or don‘t read) these women discover themselves and the meaning of true friendship. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
First book finished for the #deweyoct #readathon. ❤️📚
Yay Readathon Day!! I‘ve got my coffee, my water, my current read, and am snuggled in my favorite blanket.
Soccer and Homecoming for my kids today, so I‘ll have to cut into my reading time for those events. But I‘m still so excited to be able to dedicate the rest of my day to this!

Saturday night! Hubby took the kids to see a movie, so it‘s just me, the pup, my book and a glass of Rosé. ❤️???
Taking a turn from thrillers to read something lighter that focuses on female friendships. I love my book club girls - going strong in our book club since 1997, but best of friends for even longer. They fuel my soul.❤️📚
Snuck in a little nap time reading today since both kiddos were asleep at her same time! 🙌🏻
Really enjoyed this book. It was a really good story. Kept you hooked and wanting to know more with every chapter. Was not disappointed!
OMG @HufflepuffGirl90 - what a great and chocolatey #BBSredacted swap!! All of these books have been on my TBR forever and I‘ve never been able to find the tagged book locally. I‘m super excited to read them all! You picked such yummy dark chocolate choices and the socks are so fuzzy and soft! Thank you so much!! 😊❤️
A beautiful love story, but not your typical romantic love story... instead it is a love story of friends. I have a wonderful group of friends who are my family and I love them very much...
I loved the idea of a secret book club reading salacious material, but it didn‘t quite live up to my expectations. I still enjoyed it but had built it up in my own mind to promise more. MJ annoyed me with her indecisiveness, and the others were also setting my teeth on edge at moments. All in all I did like it though.
I loved Harrison‘s Clique series when I was a teenager so I was glad to see that she‘s writing for adults now! This book was funny and charming. MJ, an adult orphan solely focused on her job, moves to a coastal California town and gets invited to join a book club for soft erotica. Super cute and funny!
As I finished off my Christmas shopping today I found a book sale. I couldn‘t help myself. 🎄
This book never really came together for me, the character development seem fractured at best. I read this over a busy week in my life so that may account for some of that however if it was a fabulous book, I would have been drawn in no matter what. There were parts that I felt I was just skimming and other parts where I was like, "okay I really am enjoying this book now" and then the book would lose me again. Loved this book! A light-hearted, touching story about the value of friendships. A perfect summer beach read!
You know you are good friends when you buy the same book!! 🤓
This has negative Litsy reviews, which is a bummer since I enjoyed the first 3 chapters. But, I do not care what others think. Life is too short to read serious books all the time.
There were some bits and pieces that were good, but they were buried under a pile of garbage. The writing was ridiculous - see my previous post for examples. I expected the book to be more about the older generation of ladies who started the book club, but it's all about the younger ones, who I felt were crass and shallow and I couldn't relate to them.
🙄😬🤢
These are just two examples of the terrible writing in this book. I thought it would be a fun book for my book club and now I wish I could fast forward through it.
MJ finds herself in the sleepy town of Pearl Beach with no idea what happens next... but then she meets Gloria, her elderly neighbour who is about to change her life.
The Dirty Book Club is where life long friendships are made & it's time for the next generation to come together.
This book had me wishing I had a Gloria - an unlikely character who becomes a friendship fairy godmother, connecting MJ with the women she never knew she needed.
I don't know about this one... I loved the concept: two different generations of women brought together and strengthened by an "illicit" book club (and the beginning chapters were delightful) but it just...I don't know. I think it was the execution? Everything felt very rushed. The dialogue was funny but I don't think I connected as deeply with the women as I wanted to.
An extremely optimistic and aggressive #MarchTBR for my #readingresolutions challenge! But I'm going to Mexico later this month and hoping I can finish at least 2 of these then.
I‘ve decided to DNF this book. The writing isn‘t bad, but it‘s not a romance and, well, life is short. This might appeal to readers who like women‘s fiction that focuses on female friendships.
I keel forgot to set my timer for the #24in48 oh well. This is the third book I have read for this does that count? Anyway, I liked it, found it fun.
Ok! So Simon and Schuster just posted my review! I am so excited. Please give it some Litsy love! http://xoxoafterdark.com/2017/10/26/uncork-wine-xoxperts-dirty-book-club-lisi-ha....
What a fun idea!! I just signed up for Group I - looks like we need one more person to get started. #LMPBC @suvata

Well, this book is exactly what it says. It is about a secret book club. This book club is unique in that it only reads dirty books and it is as funny as it sounds. The club also comes complete with a secret key, secret rituals and anonymity.
My snuggle buddies! I am enjoying this hoot of a book. And yes! It's about a dirty book club! I have to be careful and not laugh too loud! Will wake the pups! 😂
So nothing came to mind for #minimalistcovers yesterday and then look what I found today on Goodreads.
