📚Yes quite a few, my most reread authors are Marianna Zapata and Kristen Ashley
📚It can be when I‘m just wandering a book store. I love a pretty cover.
📚Tagged is very much about man vs nature

Catching up from yesterday. #litsyspringbreak The forest is a happy place for me. Love a book that has the forest as a setting. #forest @TheKidUpstairs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
Oh this was beautiful, it did get slow a few times but overall it was beautiful. Willa does go through some horrendous situations, and there are some really dark moments in the story, but there are just as many beautiful situations to balance it out. There are moments when the story shows beauty and love can be found in even the darkest of situations.
Wow, Beatty does it again. World building, entranced reading from the first page. Willa is a young night-spirit of the Great Smoky Mountsins, and her clan's best thief. She learns of her tribe's bad leadership and misuse of power, leading them to steal children and torture them, further ignites Willa drive to be different.
Literary themes: cons of clear-cutting deforestation, reading & writing is power, importance of heritage, family dynamics
Just finished this beautiful book as the sun sets. It was absolutely lovely. It also takes place in one of my favorite places-The Great Smokey Mountains. A tale of a Faeren girl (sort of a Wood Sprite/Fairy type person) and her interactions with her clan and the humans moving in and laying waste the the forests in 1909 America. But not all humans are what she thinks. A lovely tale, great for middle grades and up! #BookSpin March a bit late!
My daughter and I just finished Max Crumbley Vol 2 and we don‘t currently own volume 3 and the library is closed. Soooo I‘m hoping she will pick one of these 3 middle grade books that we own to read together.
I still a struggle to get her to read, which is frustrating as she used to love it before her father bought her a cellphone without speaking to me first about it, oh the joys of spilt parenting 🙄 any tips to get an 11 yr to read???

I was shocked to find how much I liked this book. I bought it on our way off of the Clingman's Dome trail, for my niece. I have started reading the books I give her, and in this one I added notes. I live finding things in my books, hopefully she will too. #wintergames #tmskellington #christmasgiftformyniece #Christmastraditions @Crimson613

I need to get reading! I need to finish these before I give them to my Niece and Nephew, put notes in them, and get them wrapped for Christmas.
I loved the main character a lot. Willa was interesting and so was the Appalachian world she inhabits. Pioneers, Fae people, animals and an author that loves trees ❤️❤️❤️
I forgot to post this but I completed my first reading challenge of the year.
Willa is a 12-year-old night-spirit, stealing from humans to support her clan. But everything changes when she gets hurt on a thieving run. Everything she has been told about humans is a lie. Can she believe anything else her leader says?
Willa goes through exile, develops independence, and nurtures the old ways of her family. Along the way she finds home and love, then risks it all to save the one she loves.

That moment when you snap out of the group-think and begin to establish your own identity.
8/10 Good book, YA fiction. Shorter book, read it in one sitting. Interesting characters, with enough going on to make it enjoyable. Well worth the time to read.
1. The tagged book is on my #TBR and I love the cover!

Oh...my...goodness...this book awakened my love for trees, nature, woodland creatures. An incredibly woven story full of adventure and empowerment for young girls to be bold and fearless.
Because I loved the setting of the Great Smoky Mountains in this book so much, I decided to join the #ReadingUSA2019. @Librarybelle
Willa is a girl after my own heart; a child of the forest, who can't understand the damage that humans cause the world around them. This is a middle grade book, but it's so well written that all ages can appreciate and enjoy it. The way Beatty describes Willa's connection to the Earth made my heart happy.
Getting in a little reading time and since it's cold and rainy outside, Willow, my super cuddly black lab mix wanted to snuggle in bed with me. 💚 #dogsoflitsy
I could not put this book down! Read it in two sittings - why have I not read Beatty‘s books before?! Fixed that problem and have the Sarefina book 1 on hold at library. Also have multiple books from the Goodreads Choice Awards (Middle School ) on hold! Can‘t wait for the rest of the Willa series to come out !
This is a delightful story. I love how Beatty delves into American folklore in his books. Willa is a magical story set in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Things to do while #audiobooking - clean out my fridge. I threw out everything expired or old and now we have no food lol. Grocery shopping is tomorrow thankfully. We are even out of apples. We never run out of apples 🤣🍎🍎I'm really enjoying the tagged book. I may end up liking Willa better than Serafina (Beatty's other series)

What a whimsically, wonderfilled novel. Willa was an excellent character to follow and her heart and desire to be good were inspiring.
There were definitely some dark elements to this story, and I loved how the author weaved those situations with the fantastical.
Excellent fiction for young readers that like their magic on the grimmer side. Appalachian folklore set at the turn of the century -- loved it.
Finished my first book of #24in48Readathon it was very good #LitsyAtoZ #LetterB @BookishMarginalia @24in48
Wild Friday night here 😂 How's everyone's night or day going?
Wow. I love the world that this book created. I loved Willa and her determination, her love for her people and the forest.
I felt like the message about the ‘loggers‘ and what they were doing was a maybe a little overt at times, but it was still a beautifully told story about love and family and loyalty.
I enjoyed Beatty's Serafina series. Excited for this new one!
Robert Beatty was fabulous! I can‘t wait to read this book.
At author signing event today for this book and North Carolina author.
Sticking with anticipated new releases for July.

Beatty‘s debut, Serafina & the Black Cloak, was at the top of my “Best Of” list for 2015 and I have devoured the two sequels, so picking up Willa of the Wood was a no-brainer for me. I have come to expect lush description, clever plotting, and memorable characters from Beatty, but I was unprepared for the flat-out gorgeousness of Willa of the Wood. Super fun gift / swag from Disney-Hyperion to help celebrate release of new MG novel set in the Serafina universe. Thanks, Disney! #WillaoftheWood
