Slightly slow to start, but then it veered off into a completely unexpected direction and just, whoa. I immediately downloaded the second one. Phew! #booked2023 #titlestartswithvorw

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this book. The beginning was slow; I felt like a lot of it was just waiting for something important to happen. But the last third was exciting, and though there was a (small) plot hole at the end, overall things wrapped up together quite nicely.
This is the first book in the 4 book Black Winter Series. I read this book in an afternoon last summer completely ignoring my children and husband and animals!
It is just so good, you don't really know what's going on but it sets up the rest of the series beautifully.
The story begins with a young independent single female and a car crash. A stranger saves her but there's something odd about him and his house and the outside world.
Another solid Coates. This was a perfect book for the really COLD weather here in NY right now. I finished it this afternoon with a Kahlua spiked latte.
This is a pick for me, even with a super annoying protagonist, and being left with so many questions.
I plan on continuing with this series.
Great #LMPBC pick.
I was not expecting to feel so seen in the first few sentences. Vibes for this Sunday night, for sure!
Not as good as expected and took a bit of a turn I'm not sure about. I was confused for a lot of it. Not sure if I'll continue

I have been having one hell of a time coming up with a TBR for #WinterGames2021 I'm not big on holiday romances or cozies but nothing I own looked good either so....fuck it. Let's give it a shot!
I pretty much looked for whatever didn't look horrible from the library, Hoopla and KU and selected a bunch. If all else fails, I'm going to try any #bookspin and #doublespin picks I missed over the year 😅

As Halloween ‘21 draws to a close…
I finished my #LMPBC #GroupW book already! Such a quick read… more in the book 🤍🥶💙 Though I‘ll add that it kept me cold while reading it, despite 70-degree temps today!

Book 18 in October themed reads. Y‘all I stayed up way to late reading this one. If you want creepy story this is the start of a three book series you will want to read. Yes, it has a cliffhanger but trust me you won‘t be mad about it. Off to start the next book. This is atmospheric, creepy, suspenseful and I love the two characters!
I love Darcy Coates! This is one of my birthday purchases. My man always gets me a gift card because he can‘t keep up with which books I have or don‘t have.
Anyone else Darcy Coates obsessed? I am eating this book up with plans to run to the Barnes and Noble to get the rest of the series tonight. She's so good!
This book felt manufactured, like one of a million lemon candies on an assembly line. There was nothing spectacular about it. The writing was ok but not memorable. I did like the MC however; you could sense her fear but that was really the only positive aspect. I definitely don't like books (like this) that don't explain why or how something happened. It could also use a more appropriate title.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Creepy book that caught me from the beginning. Clare is trying to get to her Aunt and take her to her sister‘s bunker because the world is falling apart. She wakes up in a house with a stranger after he claims he found her in her car that she had wrecked. Her memorial is splotchy. Can she trust this stranger? Where was she heading and why?
This book was creepy! Something bad is going down in the cities of the world. The MC is on her way to her sister's when she gets in a wreck & can't remember what was going on, how her wreck happened, how she got her injuries, or how she ended up in a secret mansion in the woods w/a strange man. There's ample suspense while waiting for the reveals because there're so many ways it could go. I won't be reading the sequel, but I enjoyed this one.
⭐⭐⭐⭐I really enjoyed this book, it's my second reading by Darcy Coates. Clare is snowed in with a man she doesn't know and starts seeing things. Also she's trying to remember what happened before she arrived at the mansion and why her body has deep cuts and scratches. Clare is terrified and wants out. Darron has secrets of his own and she doesn't know how to feel about him.

So excited I got my 1st bingo #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
It's a beautiful day for some outside reading 🌤🍓
This book will complete my first ever bingo!
I can always trust Darcy to pull me out of a reading slump! Her stories are so suspenseful. I don‘t know how she does it but she‘s able to make me feel like I‘m in one of her stories with things that are made for nightmares. Hopefully I can get another couple books in before the end of the month!
I normally love Darcy Coates so this one was a bit so so for me. I felt it was trying to combine her normal haunted house style with romance, a gothic family tale and an apocalyptic event. Not sure if I liked it enough to get the second one.
This book was recommended to me by a fellow Bookstagrammer. While I was hesitant to read it, I ended up enjoying it. I finished it in a few hours. There‘s a supernatural twist which made it fun to read and a little dark. I can‘t wait to read the next book in the series.
🌝 So far so good. Didn‘t really make any resolutions per se but I am trying to spend less and that is going ok so far.
🌝 tagged-the new Darcy Coates on my Kindle and on audio a Gulf Coast Paranormal Book.
