Soft pick
Initially I was not enjoying, but I came around.
There are a few things that were incredibly unrealistic for the sake of the plot (like how online banking works).
I liked the mental illness representation, & appreciated the vulnerability & at times villainy of the characters.
Next up….
The story mixes the past with the present in which the truth is hard to discern. When Burke proposes to Skye she feels blessed to have found the love of her life. The couple seem to have an idyllic life when reality is exposed and everyone is unprepared for the fall out. What follows is an unbelievable web of truths and lies which are more convoluted than originally shared. If you love twisted, psychological stories then this is for you.
An easy read that still took me 2 weeks to get through (granted I had a lot going on); the whole premise was just so… dumb. I was rolling my eyes with every chapter. Unfortunate given the depiction of the main character‘s struggle with OCD held promise and was refreshingly different to see. #BOTM
Adored this thriller (one of the best I‘ve read this year)! Skye, Burke, Heather, Libby….all characters in this fiendishly twisted novel about love, deception, power, wealth, revenge, and mental illness/compassion. Had me gasping for breath and reaching (ok, gulping) a glass of wine! Creepy good!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏
I liked this. Is more of a romance than a thriller in my opinion but it was an easy listen that was fairly engaging. I liked the characters but it all wrapped up with a neat little ending that is typical of a romance. But I still enjoyed it.

Today‘s Prompt: TRUE
Have you read Carola‘s book?
Burke was definitely deceitful. Heather wasn‘t bad at it either.

“There are three sides to every story.” But oof, that male lead is a conman in every one of them. •The first 3/4 of this book is engaging and fun. The last quarter transforms into a love-conquers-all Hallmark novel that doesn‘t match the theme of the rest of the book.
Hot cocoa with my book tonight
I‘m awful at writing reviews so bear with me. Other then my initial choosing of this book for my book of my month pick back in March, I never saw anything about this book online. But it should be talked about more! The characters were great, I was going back and forth on who to like best and trust, the plot twists weren‘t at the end which was new to read, and the over arching story was just so interesting. Go check out this book!
When I first started this book, I was super interested in it. The story really pulled me in and I couldn‘t wait to see what happened. The twist was okay. Somewhat predictable, but I still liked it. The thing that just didn‘t work for me was the way it ended. It was a bit over the top and unbelievable for me all the way around and it did frustrate me. I didn‘t hate this book, but I thought it could have been better.
Loved it! This had me hooked from the very beginning - a decent thriller!

Overall Rating 4¼⭐ | Narration 😁 = Very Good
If this book were a wave it‘d be one of the gnarly ones. The kind that catches you unaware and ends up taking you for a ride...maybe not the ride of your life, but a complicated and twisted ᎡᎥɗ𐐩 with an ending that could have gone so many different ways. Also...it‘s best to go in blind on this one. Give this one a try if you like domestic thrillers that trip you up and leave you guessing.
3.5 stars, rounded up, good pool/beach thriller. Told from 3 points of view, the tension in the first half is reminiscent of Gone Girl (it‘s not really GG). Wasn‘t super thrilled with the ending, some predicable moments, but it was completely enjoyable to relax with a summer, fun read!
I've slept on it and am even less satisfied with the ending now. 🤨
This is between a pick and a so-so.The first half of this book is compelling and exciting but the second half loses steam and is entirely too drawn out. And I definitely would have had it end differently so I'm left feeling dissatisfied. Still it was a quick, intriguing read with an interesting MC (I consider Skye the MC despite the three POVs getting pretty equal weight) so it's maybe a soft pick.
The way that this book weaves between 3 different perspectives was masterful. It was easy to follow along and connect the dots, while still managing to be surprising. It was very well done and an excellent read that I flew through.
I promise I don‘t say this nearly as often as the book marketing community has: this book helped fill the Gone Girl shaped hole in my heart.
I enjoyed this twisted mystery on who is telling the truth. Skye gets engaged to someone who she just met 5 months ago, but he is perfect or is he? This story kept me guessing and turning the pages.
I liked Skye. I felt sorry for Burke. I had the twist figured out early, but overall I enjoyed this book. Plus it helped with the anxiety I was feeling over trading in my jeep for a newer vehicle. Getting lost in a fictional world is so much better than reality. #AwesomeApril @Andrew65
Ocean and fire sounds for ambiance. Don't mind the dirty laundry, my daughter stripped and remade her bed, but cannot carry the basket down the stairs. It has been a long day and I have no plans to stop reading and carry it to the laundry room.
This was an interesting mystery about the intertwined lives of three characters. The author very successfully let each of these charters narrate their own stories. An interesting plot with a slight nod to the tension of Gone Girl. A good, quick read that is a nice mental escape. #AxeTheStacks
This was one of my most anticipated books of 2021 (I loved Tell Me Lies). Although there were plenty of twists and clever uses of structure, the ending ultimately fell flat. It became predictable and unrealistic. What I did appreciate was an honest look at what it's like to love with OCD as people too often claim to be "OCD" without really knowing what it means. So 5 ⭐ for trying to break stigma, 3.5⭐ for a disappointing ending.
I‘m enjoying this today but could it be Too Good to be True?
🎧 Three good narrators, 3 main characters, 3 POV‘s ... in revolving chapters.
I main character had promise, I loved to hate one of them & liked the 3rd.
Twisty. I saw it coming but I really enjoyed the ride!! It was clearly unbelievable but it was stress-free & an easy read.
This would have been a decent #BOTM add-on ... way better than Severance. I dragged my feet listening to this, glad I finally jumped onboard.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I sat in from of my book cart and said "what do I want to start reading today?". My 11 yr old said "I want to pick!"
This is what he handed me. So here we go.
Another book ticked off my #bookspinbingo board
I really liked this one. In the first half I thought “I know what the twist is going to be but it‘s good so I‘ll roll with it” but then I was only half way through the book and knew there would be more to the story.
Overall a pretty good book and a good BOTM pick
Well yesterday I said this wasn't high on my priority list but for some reason opened it right up. A quick, easy enough read that kept me turning pages, though I personally found the twists to be a bit lackluster overall. It certainly had potential, but never quite tipped over from "good" to "great". #BOTM
I'd completely forgotten about putting in this library hold until the notice came through. Not super high on my priority list but hard to turn down a walk to the library 📚 #BOTM
⭐️⭐️⭐️
I liked this, but it didn‘t “wow” me! The first half was twisty and compelling, and although I suspected what was going on, it was fun to read. The second half really fizzled out for me. #BOTM
I enjoyed the writing in this book, and the 3 different perspectives. Decent twists, but I could have dealt without the mushiness that it almost ended with. 😖
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really don‘t want to go into the whole depth of what this book is about because it will ruin the book for you. I found the twists and the plot to be guessed easily. I wasn‘t surprised about anything that happened. Lately I have been guessing thrillers and not surprised. Thrillers are just average to me lately. I did hate a certain gold digging character. It was a short read. I liked that Skye had a mental illness.

I give this book 4/5 stars. I took off a star because I'm pissed at the ending. How one vile person profits from their disgusting actions without suffering any consequences, irritates me to no end. Despite this, it is a pretty amazing book because it kept me flipping those pages.
Too Good to Be True is a domestic thriller that is crazy in the best way. Lovering pulled me into the story from the first page. I loved the different perspectives. Skye quickly falls in love with Burke and is so excited about their wedding. Skye is beautiful and rich.
Thank you St. Martin‘s Press and NetGalley for Too Good to Be True.

I really need a book that I can‘t put down right now! Trying this one.
This book should not be categorized as a thriller. It sets up the wrong expectation for the book. Other than that, I liked it. I can't say that it normalized mental illness, but I thought it presented the topic authentically and in a way that it wasn't the plot twist or the driving factor behind a crazed female protagonist. This book was ⭐⭐⭐⭐ stars for me. The second half was a little "too good to be true".
