Agh, I‘m so behind on my reviews, but I finally finished the Red Queen series. The finale wasn‘t perfect but it was a fitting end. There were some added POVs that didn‘t seem to add much, but I loved getting into Evangeline‘s head and her arc. I loved the depth of Aveyard‘s world building and how she didn‘t shy away from politics and strategy to make it all about romance, but the romance piece was still nicely done and realistic. Great series!

A fitting conclusion to the Red Queen series. I feel that the author was consistent with her characters up to the conclusion. This final installment was fast paced (even though it took me forever to read it - that‘s just my time limitations not a reflection of the pace of the book), action packed and satisfying. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 ❤️📚#serieslove2023

Went to the markets in the morning which were excellent then did another 2 Byron Bay op shops. The first was a dud (It was last time I visited too). The second one was very rushed this time due to having family with me but I still did pretty well. I really do prefer to op shop alone but my mother often finds things I love that I don‘t see. The tagged book is for my big step daughter, Linnéa and me to read together. I think the dress is hand made.

Bookwormjillk I love rescuing hand made items. 1y

By far my favourite of the Red Queen series. I hadn't previously enjoyed jumping between characters each chapter but in this book it felt necessary to capture the climax of this story. I wasn't in love with parts of the ending, no spoilers here, but the series has most definitely gone out on a high

I talk about this series a LOT, and I‘m not about to stop. “War Storm” is a magnificent, awe-inspiring, surprising, and overall phenomenal conclusion to the Red Queen series. It has just as many astonishing plot twists as the other three books. Unlike most YA fantasy books, it wasn‘t cheesy or childish at all. The author wasn‘t scared to write about gore and action scenes, and the romance element was actually enjoyable and didn‘t make me cringe.

MrsBabki Yes! Love the passion and vocabulary! 3y

4⭐ Good but could have been better. Why call the series "Red Queen" when there is no red queens anywhere?
But I still would recommend reading this series

persephone1408 Mare is the Red Queen. She was called that at the end of the first one. 3y
Seeking_Serenity @persephone1408 yes I know, but the name gives the sense that she will become queen at the end and this doesn't happen so I felt like it was kind of irrelevant you know? 3y
persephone1408 @MehoLovesReading I can understand that. I feel like she is a queen without a title. If that makes sense. 3y
Seeking_Serenity @persephone1408 you actually have a point. I can see that now. 3y

Ok, so last book of the series.
I had read some reviews (without spoiling myself!) and they were very mixed: I *personally* loved the ending. Why? Because I feel like giving a definitive ending was just not fitting, and the end just fits better with the emotional state of the characters after all that happens!
Anyways: read and find out ;)

I appreciated how you get everyone perspective on the same situation. You gain their insight, feelings, connections, etc. I really enjoyed reading Evangeline's POV. I didn't really care for her in the previous books but gaining her insight made me feel for her.

Aveyard is at once a harsh writer and a wonderful one. She gripped me for the entire series, I even had to take a breathing break between 2 and 3 because of the emotional toll. But I couldn't stay away too long. War Storm was a great ending to a long and arduous journey. The ending was a mix of sad and understanding, with room for more story, or me to fill in what I want to be the rest of their tale.

The last book in the Red Queen series delivers! I adored this series for its imagination, action, character development and for giving me a colorful & vivid story I could escape into after a long day of stress. It's about love, loss and what it means to be complicatedly human in time of war. YA, Fantasy

I finally finished this book and, thus, the series!!!Funny enough, this was my favorite book of the entire series. It was very intriguing to get multiple points of view throughout. The ending was satisfactory but some parts weren‘t written as well as I thought they‘d be. I definite don‘t regret reading this series! Thanks to @Aivilo for letting me borrow all the books!

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. I would say I started to not like it when they went to war. I also was rooting for the wrong people to get better with help. There was no second chance for one character, and they started as one of my favorites.

#bookhaul for November 14th. My #tbr winter stack is so big already but I went hunting for books for gifts (I love to give books for Christmas gifts) and couldn't help myself.

I'm especially pleased to pick up Victoria Aveyard's War Storm which is the last of the #redqueen series and the only one I didn't have. Bonus for it being hardcover.

And can I just shoutout to my local book thrift store Twice is Nice?? These altogether cost $22.

In concept this felt like a YA Game of Thrones with wayyyy less violence. I enjoyed the POV switches of this and the 3rd book but I can‘t get over that it‘s so long and yet so little happens. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Still - a series complete!

LunaAubry I‘m currently reading War Storm! I feel like all her books really only pick up toward the very end of each one. How far along are you? 4y
Melismatic @LunaAubry I‘ve finished the series but didn‘t read any of the prequels - yes, I think that‘s pretty accurate to me too. I continued with the series mostly bc of the ancillary characters bc Mare kind of irritated me lol. Are you liking it? 4y
LunaAubry Oh! I didn‘t realize you had finished it haha. I haven‘t read the prequels either. I‘m kind of in the same boat as you. I keep reading because I feel committed to it at this point. But Mare doesn‘t do much for me. I am rooting for all these women POV‘s, though. Usually you don‘t get YA with primarily women POV‘s. (edited) 4y

I really liked this last installment of the Red Queens series. I enjoyed how Mare dyed her hair to show her role as an electricon, and how Maven died. He was such an important character that I was really curious how he would end. And his death was so suspenseful. I also liked how Evangeline and Mare warmed to each other a bit, and it wasn't all hatred.
I rate this book a 9/10 and am sad that the series is over, but I think it ended really well.

ava.lynn I was so upset when Maven died. I think he could have been fixed. If you enjoyed the series you should read Broken Throne. It adds a little bit more to the story. 5y

This book was amazing and so fun to read. I found myself crying when Maven died. I wanted so bad for him to turn. I know he is a horrible person and he did so many bad things to Mare and everyone else, but I still loved his character. He was evil but sweet and charming at the same time. I loved everything about this book. This was an amazing series and I am sad that I have no more books for this series to read. 10/10
