I enjoyed this one. Not as heavy in the romance department but I did enjoy it! Nice, easy read with some memorable/likable characters

Guess who stayed up way too late finishing a book when I‘d told myself ‘I‘ll just read one or two chapters before going to sleep‘ (it was me). This book made me cry several times, happy tears and sad ones. A truly heartwarming story about the community to be found in small libraries. 💙📚💚
My second book by this author and it seems she has a niche….small town issue involving closing down a beloved building and the people rallying to prevent it from happening. Very cute with fun characters, but I was hoping for a different plot. Book #49 in 2024
Super cute and fun to read. I wouldn‘t say it‘s my absolute favorite, but it was entertaining. It was pretty predictable and reminiscent of other books with similar characters and stories. I did like all of the literary references and June was a really fun character to follow. Nice ending and generally sweet book to read.
Finishing up the year with a couple of light reads. I liked this one about a community fighting to protect their library from closure due to budget cuts.
My tiny dining room is now a library, as unpacking comes along. I‘m glad I have the space to still have most of my shelves and some of my books out. 🙂

Self care reading at its best 👏🏻 June Jones, extremely shy assistant librarian, comes out of her shell to help save her library and realizes all that she is capable of and gets her groove on
June is a meek and awkward library assistant who understands the multifunctional purposes of a small town library. When the city council proposes closing the library and replacing it with a bookmobile, some surprising things happen. Great characters with lots of literary references 📖❤️📚

When the county council threatens to close the small-town library where June grew up and now works, it‘s all hands on deck to save it. June is an extreme introvert and struggles with stepping out of her comfort zone but she knows she can‘t stand by and let her library close.

A great audiobook and story.

4.5/5
Read this in two days. I have to admit I am a sucker for the outsider-librarian-who-has-to -fight-against-big-businesses-and-her-past. Even though the plot id quite scrapbook-ish, the plot-twists weren‘t too obvious and I liked that it was a small set of characters and places.
An exceptionally shy and awkward library has to find her voice when her small town library is threatened with closure. Super cute, cozy, sentimental, and predictable. Tons of book references, I love reading about book nerds. The perfect palate cleanser after all the horror I read last month. #DamnTheManSaveTheLibrary 💜💛❤️
I loved ALL of the literary references in this one! This was a sweet story of a village library at risk of closure. The patrons of the library must band together and get creative if there is any hope in saving their beloved space.
This book reminds us that we should not judge a book by it's cover, to get outside of our comfort zone, and take risks for the ones (and things) we love.
Told from a singular POV, this story is a feel-good tale about a small town, the residents who inhabit it, and the power of libraries (and librarians) to transform the lives of many. If you enjoy literary fiction, especially stories with a set of quirky characters in quaint villages, you‘ll likely enjoy this book. I recommend this book for readers who need a light read. Hmm, I'm not struck by this so far. Rather twee and predictable...
I adored this book. 💖 Sweet, shy librarian. Small town in England. Hilarious lovable characters and they all fight to keep their beloved little library from closing. Lovely, lovely read. It inspired me to get back to the library too! 🤓 #library #librarybooks
4-24-22: My 39th finished book of 2022! Absolutely loved this! June Jones, a library assistant in Chalcot, the small village she has lived in all her life, has crippling shyness. When faced with the possibility of her library being shut down, she bands together with a misfit crew of library patrons to help save it. Along the way, she must face her fears and stand up for what she believes in. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣3️⃣9️⃣
I‘m reading a few different books right now with some great first lines. #firstlinefridays
This is a lovely and warm story about a group of people trying to save their local library. The main character June is so lovely and her world is books and the community. There is also a romance too.
As usual all my library holds are coming in at once!

See any I should give priority to? 🤔
I‘m so often disappointed by books set in bookshops and libraries that I hesitated to read this one. I‘m glad I did—it was better than average, and has an important message. Read my full review here: https://debbybrauer.org/#the-last-chance-library
Cheers for a bookish read, when your flight looks to be slightly (🤞) delayed.
I finished this one, and what a nice read it was! I quite enjoyed the characters! Even though it wasn‘t complex or complicated, it was a satisfying read. I feel better after reading it 📚☺️
My hold from the library finally came in! As a former library school student, I am very excited to read this! #bibliophile #libraries
What a sweet and cozy book! While the storyline didn‘t have the depth I was hoping for, overall I loved the characters, and their eccentricities ! 📚 I have had really bad Vertigo this last week, and am just now recovering. Wasn‘t able to read during that week due to how dizzy I was, but today I made up for it by finishing the book and feeling better !
It‘s been a tough week at work. Still acclimating to a new head librarian who‘s personality and idea of the library is VERY different than I have ever worked in/with, and I am utterly exhausted. My mom offered to pick up a book for me at my favorite bookshop Fabled Bookstore in Waco when visiting my aunt, and that sweet gesture was a good start to the week💙
Okay, as a librarian I'm fully biased toward this book and its delineation of the importance of libraries, but that doesn't make it less objectively good!! I want to protest with Mrs. B. #contemporaryfiction
