pickI loved this a lot. The funny thing about this author is that all of his books are vastly different and it's hard to play favorites.
A woman, known for sleepwalking, disappears. That's the setup. The mystery evolves from there.

pickListened to this on audio from #libby. I have wanted to try Bohjalian for a long time. I think I will for sure read more from him in the future. I'm still not sure how I feel about the way the ending tied up, but I liked the examination of family, how different people can be depending on who they are with, and grief. I thought the mystery was mostly well done also. 1st book completed for #OutstandingOctober @Andrew65
pickFinished off this audiobook on my walk home from work this morning. I chose it for the #AuthorOnLitsy prompt for March‘s #ReadWithMrBook. I continue to be pleasantly surprised by this author. There‘s always an underlying suspense, but without all the crazy drama like most books. Certainly not heart racing intense, but still great for a slow steady read. ♥️

pickThis is a hard one to review. I liked the mystery- mc's mom disappears in the middle of the night, and has a history of sleepwalking. During the search, she is drawn to an investigator who also has a history of sleepwalking and was friends (or more?) with her mom. But towards the end of the book, things fell apart a bit. The romance takes a sudden lurch forward, and the ending is just info dump. But the bones of the story were good. Cont.
Got off work late, found out that someone hit my car (just a little cosmetic damage, still annoying af), and listened to this book as I drove to the polls!
pickThis was a quiet slow burn character driven novel that I certainly enjoyed. The MC‘s mom disappears one night. The family is trying to piece together what happened knowing the mom is a sleepwalker. I liked the scientific details regarding sleepwalking and the forensic details as well. The ending had a good twist. Audiobook was well done. Overall a good pick. 😴 📚❤️

pickI always find Chris Bohjalian‘s novels to be entertaining. Sleepwalking really worked well for the basis of this story. Good read.
so-soMeh... this took me weeks to listen to, so I can‘t rate it highly. If it was at least more compelling, I could recommend it on that basis. It eventually got interesting, but took way too long to get there.
I just started this book, but as a sleepwalker myself it is creeping the heck out of me. I really hope it turns out to be something not sleepwalking related!
pickI didn't really know what to expect from this but I love Bohjalian's writing so I went in blindly. I came out pleasantly surprised! I did think the main character came off a bit petulant at times but having suffered a loss, I understood. Sleep walking is a real and serious condition and lends itself to this moving and equally creepy story!
It is because of you Lovely Littens that I decided to again try OverDrive. Last time I was unimpressed with the selection and the wait time but I keep seeing comments about OverDrive and about using Libraries. All of your random, subtle “libraries are awesome” comments worked their way into my brain where they waited and grew as more amazing Littens noted more and more about utilizing the library system. I am now devoted to digital-library-ing!
I went for the first audiobook I added on #Overdrive & happily saw this by the incomparable @ChrisBohjalian! Somnambulism is possibly one of my favorite words to hear! 💜

so-soOh my. This was grueling to finish. I loved this author‘s book “The Midwives”, so I had high hopes. Unfortunately, it kept getting worse and worse. Felt no sympathy for the characters. Sex scenes not appreciated. The big reveal at the end was a big disappointment. The only reason I did not give it a pan is because I now have some knowledge of parasomnia, and the author (who I know is on Litsy) seems like a nice guy!

Starting this one tonight. I feel like I am really indecisive about what to read these days! I have started and stopped several books in the last few weeks....knowing full well I will go back to most of them (so I don‘t count it as bailing, quite yet). I don‘t know...I think I still have a hangover from A Little Life! 🤷♀️🙈
Nice way to end the day
so-soOk, I guess. Never really engaged me. It could have been the pace of the audiobook. Ending really not believable...but I was impressed with how the male author wrote a female voice.
