so-soOkay, I'm most definitely projecting but, the part where the lesson of the book seems to be that you don't have to be perfect and giving all the time, you should take time for yourself, great, and okay, yes, you can't take on the responsibility of changing other people or cleaning up all their chaos, but...not a single hint of a recognition of the need for a change from the rest of Egg's roommates? 1/?
A children's book that portrays care and humanity
To overcome a crisis, a person needs to allow themselves to experience the full range of emotions that arise and receive validation through the empathy of others
When giving advice, people tend to take less ownership of their feelings and their healing process
But when they share and experience their emotions, they take ownership, enabling healing
Our empathy makes this possible

pick4 ⭐I might need to keep this one a little longer for my niece. Who‘s really gotten into dinosaur and also has a tendency to get very emotional very quickly. This would be entertaining at a story time. The book rhymes well, it has a nice cadenc,e and the illustrations are bright and colorful. Altogether, this is a great book that I could see being at storytime for the next 20+ years.
pickAnd now I want to hug a sunflower seed. 🥹 This series is wonderful. Just that gentle, hopeful way of relaying the fact that we're all flawed and different and capable of change and deserving of belief in our ability to do so. Love the art. Very difficult not to hear the “baaaaaaad seed“ refrain to the tune of 'Bad to the Bone', which I presume was on purpose. 😁😉

This story has many great social emotional themes throughout that I would love to use in a classroom. I would use this book to teach children about self-discovery, friendship, perspective, and the idea of how you have the power to shape your own narrative.
pickThis cute read aloud story is written in the style of a poem. It has great rhymes and opportunities for children to make funny sound effects. This story also has a great message of how your actions or attitude can effect your interactions with others.
