Bees in Your Backyard: A Guide to North America's Bees | Joseph S Wilson, Olivia J Messinger Carril

A fantastic introduction to the over 4000 different kinds of North American bees. Honeybees are introduced from abroad!

I mentioned this book in a story about bee houses I was interviewed about:

My favorite book of 2018. Then again, I love bees!

TheBogwitch A friend of mine is a biologist/professor doing a bees of the plains study. I never knew there were so many kinds of bees! 5y
Ceratina @TheBogwitch I just saw you commented on this! How did I not notice? So sorry! Trying to figure this place out. I like Litsy and love just looking around at what people are sharing about books. Thanks for recommending the site! 5y
TheBogwitch @Ceratina we are in the same boat. I‘m kind of lost, but I do enjoy Litsy. 5y

Freespirit My husband and I have an organic Macadamia farm and we now have bees. I made the first batch of honey recently to give as Christmas gifts. It really is amazing how they work together to make honey. I love watching them at work! Glad you like bees too😊 5y
Ceratina Oh, that is so cool! Macadamias and honey bees!! It‘s nice to meet you and I look forward to sharing more with you on Litsy. 😊 5y

@Jess7

Today‘s Prompt: Stripes

How about these stripes?

Jess7 Was this book good or creepy ? 6y
SilversReviews @Jess7 I didn‘t read the book...I just chose a title with bumble bees in it. Sorry. 6y
Jess7 Oh gotcha! @SilversReviews - a lot of people are into raising bumble bees these days. I could never do it. Too afraid of getting stung. Makes me think of a book I recent read where one of the main characters gets stung on her eye ball when her husband raises bees as a hobby! 6y

SilversReviews @Jess7 I would be afraid of the bees too. Scary. Thanks for stopping back. 6y

Chapter two amounts to a history lesson. I'm actually a little baffled, because what is technically an info dump on how the ants took over the world held my attention. I'm gonna puzzle for some time over how Robert wrote this so well, making ant queen Hymenoptera more horrifying than the Xenomorph queen from Aliens. #Morte #alien #queen #Hymenoptera #xenomorph #findSheba #fantasy #WarWithNoName #RobertRepino #SciFi #GetAwayFromHerYouBitch
