We had to make a pit stop in Bangor to see Stephen King's old house. Rumor has it that most of It was written here, which checks out especially when you turn the corner and see the massive Paul Bunyan statue...

Perfectly reasonable reaction to the loss of good oatmeal cookies and you know death 😅
From the warped brain of Stephen King….
Really enjoyed this one- an author kills off his pseudonym but his pseudonym doesn‘t want to die.
A great kick off to my summer reading, and possibly one I‘ve never read before.
This is one of my favorite of King's books. I can't wait to see the movie this September.
Set in a dystopian America, 100 boys are chosen for the long walk, where they walk until only one is left. If they stop, if they try to leave, if they are too injured to continue, they are shot dead. Ray has signed up to be in the walk. How far will he get? It's so bleak but so engaging 🖤

I didn't care for James Franco's narration of the audiobook, but otherwise I loved the story. It's hard not to think about today's politics when reading this book, though it was written over 45 years ago.

I‘m not sure how this one ended up on my Libby holds list since it‘s not going to be on the #losersclub schedule anytime soon but instead of delivering later yet again I was like ok let‘s read her! I know this was meant to be scrapped but I loved it so much and I can‘t get the story out of my mind. I‘m catching up on the adaptations too. As you can see, it‘s very meme-able. 😅 ⬇️
April‘s #losersclub pick but read in May. It was physically exhausting getting through this one as someone who struggles with daytime drowsiness reading about how tired all these guys were. Which maybe made it a more immersive experience? 😂 I did find the 4mph rule distracting since I was listening to the audio. Holding a conversation is taxing at 3mph let alone 4 so I had to suspend disbelief in that aspect. ⬇️
Tale as old as time.
