I rarely bail on a book but I‘m not enjoying this at all. Normally I love Stephen King. Can‘t win them all. 🤷🏼♀️

Litsy family, I made a Stephen King appreciation music video for his birthday with some library coworkers! 😂 It would really mean a lot to me if you could watch it, like it, comment on it, whatever you feel like! 💗 📚 Thank you so much in advance!

HAPPY 78TH BIRTHDAY, STEPHEN KING!!! 🥳🎉🎈🎂
Stephen King remains one of my favorite authors of all time! Even though his stories are mostly thought of as horror, many of them are also funny, witty, thought-provoking, and poignant! And some of his books are even life-changing - I'm looking at you, Rose Madder! 🩷
Oof, this powerful psychological thriller is raw, unflinching, and difficult to. A powerful story of fame, fortune, and control, it has me thinking about media, money, and power. I found the ending to be unsatisfying, but I hear the movie ends differently. I‘m pretty squeamish when it comes to the screen, so not sure I‘ll see it, but I‘m tempted. While not a favorite, this kept me reading and i‘m glad I read it.
I can‘t believe how long this one has been sitting in my TBR! This father/son collaboration certainly feels smooth— though, other than the departure from a ME setting (we are in small town Appalachia instead)— I don‘t think this feels out of Stephen King‘s usual books. A sudden “Aurora event” sends women into strange cocoons upon falling asleep, sending the world into chaos. Focusing on a small town & women‘s prison, the battle for survival plays.
The movie was epic, it strayed the littlest bit from the book, but it was so beautifully done. It was very very gory though, so if you‘re not into that, I wouldn‘t go see it.
Saw the adaptation on Monday. If you‘ve read the book I highly recommend not googling anything and going in blind so you can be surprised by the movie ending. Enjoyed is probably not the right word but I think this adaptation was really well done.
53% into this one, and I keep zoning out. Maybe The Dark Tower series just isn't my thing. Or maybe it's just the wrong time for it for me. 🤷♀️
@Jadams89 here are your #trappedinaspookyhouse picks! I chose Joyland and Rebecca because I read them and loved them! I picked the other two on the bottom row because the covers are fun. And I picked the other in the top row because the cover is beautiful 🤷🏻♀️
@PuddleJumper thanks for organizing!!
