A day late, but here we go! 😊
A Ghanaian concept, the word is expanded into the proverb “se wo were fi na wosankofa a yenkyi.”
Sankofa is the understanding that only by knowing your (personal, cultural, national) history can you know your current self, and know how to become better.
The concept feels particularly relevant right now.

Stumbled upon this word in my last read - The Devil and Mrs. Davenport (great book). I didn‘t know there was a specific word for speaking in tongues, but I mean, apparently there is a word for everything 😂🙌🏻 #weirdwords #weirdwordwednesday
Nope, it‘s not a type of multivitamin 😂 Just a super cool musical instrument that is apparently quite hard to master. Links: https://youtu.be/-QgTF8p-284?si=yBQCF2IBXR-Z3Tq6

FRIENDS!! Posting late but I didn‘t want anyone to miss out on the absolute cuteness that is the pygmy marmoset! Sometimes I veer off course with the “weird” part, because cute animals 😂 Here‘s an article about them: https://animals.sandiegozoo.org/animals/pygmy-marmoset #weirdwords #weirdwordwednesday
I love any book that teaches me a new word such as "shitgibbin."
Bedtime reading: a gift from friends so, for a change, I actually know what I‘m talking about.
