This is the 2nd book in the vampire knitting club series. This was just as enjoyable of a read as the first one. I‘m enjoying this light cozy fantasy/mystery series.

#ReadAway2024 #SeriesLove2024 It‘s a fun concept but poorly executed. I read the first book in the series and started the second but I wasn‘t enjoying it.
Here's a summary of my witchy reading for October! Thanks @TEArificbooks for hosting #witchathon and providing this fun bingo board!
#scarathlon #skeletoncrew @Emilymdxn
A man is murdered in a teashop and Lucy, witch and owner of the knitting shop next door, looks for the killer, aided by her knitting vampire friends.
I'm really enjoying this series and love the Oxford setting. I'll be going there in a few weeks and reading this book has made me excited to visit again.
#skeletoncrew #scarathlon #pumpkinspicereadathon @Emilymdxn
This book is on my #scarathlon TBR and I saved it for the #pumpkinspicereadathon as it's perfect fit for it. It features all the elements I associate with cosiness -- knitting, a teashop, and of course, a cosy mystery!
#skeletoncrew @Emilymdxn
As a bonus, I'll start the book in conjunction with @puddlejumper's 24-hour readathon tomorrow. The only downside to the plan is that I have to work tomorrow, so reading hours are limited!
This is a portion of my #Scarathlon TBR, consisting of the books that I can also use for #witchathon. All of these contain a witch as a character or references to witchcraft, as far as I know.

Enjoying this series. This book was a bit slow at times. I feel like the main character switches back and forth from being comfortable with all the super natural and VERY uncomfortable. I suppose it‘s a bit natural, as it‘s pretty crazy mind blowing stuff, but it just throws me for some reason. Overall I really like it though.
I finally got around to the second book of the Vampire Knitting Club series and loved it. If you like cozy paranormal mysteries I highly recommend this series so far. I love the yarn shop and all the interesting characters.
I finished 10 books this month so a pretty busy start to my reading this year. I tagged the last one I read and enjoyed. I will be reading more of the Vampire Knitting Club series this month. I'll catch up on my quick reviews this week.
Book 1 was so good, I listened in on day. On to book 2!
A light, fun and fast read.
Second in a supernatural cozy mystery series set in Oxford. Enjoyable enough. Love the idea of bored vampires knitting in secret. Lucy (the main character) is just kinda dumb. She sometimes thinks highly unlikely things just to give the mystery more suspects and at other times is naive to the point of incredulity. Luckily, I like the setting and the side characters.
I'm feeling... optimistic? At least not as overwhelmed as earlier this week. Picked up this new Christmas sign and listened to Christmas music, so ready for the Holidays!
Wow Crystelle! Thank you so much for all of the witchy goodies! I love them all! The candies, the box full of candies, the socks, the bag, the necklaces and pins. The teas smell really good! And the beeswax candles! The unicorn is super pretty! ⬇️
3/5 still very enjoyable but not as engaging as the first. I think I wanted more vampires.
This 2nd book in the series was a lot of fun. What I like most about the series is that the MC is pretty level headed and doesn‘t make (too many) dumb decisions. The mystery was interesting to follow. I wish there wasn‘t a love triangle involving a vampire, but what can you do? I recommended this cozy series.
This was my July #bookspin selection and another square on my #bookspinbingo card. @TheAromaofBooks
#cozyinthesum @Librarybelle @ferskner
My July #Bookspin is (3)Stitches and Witches.
My #Doublespin (15) is Herding Cats. Both fun picks. I‘ll get my #BookspinBingo card posted later. Thanks @TheAromaofBooks
3.75/5⭐️ Second in the series. A bit lacking in development of the MC, but a nice cozy mystery.
Lucy is settling into her new life, running her grandmother‘s yarn shop in Oxford. Having learned she is a witch, as was her grandmother, she‘s learning to use her gift. But she still can‘t knit. When a man suddenly dies in the neighboring cafe, she is pulled into a mystery. Then another death leads her to wonder if the first was a mistake.
Book two in this series. I actually love this series.
"The way that woman knit was like watching someone sit down at the piano expecting chopsticks and they came out with a Beethovan concerto. Her knitting was poetry in motion."
This series is a love letter to crafting yarn.
This is Book 2 of the Vampire Knitting Club series, but it's also a standalone novel. While it's nice that you can just jump in, it means there's a lot of repetition from book 1. I also found the worldbuilding of book 1 to be so enticing, but by book 2 that stuff is delivered matter of factly; not so richly. Overall, it was still fun and I so appreciate that the victims in the series are not young women, but the opposite, which seems subversive!
Book 2.. why not? 🙂
