So I was loving this series and then I saw this. For backstory she‘s saying that Hawkeye divorced her because she cheated on him with this dude in the past.
Literally everything else about this comic is absolutely wonderful but the implication here I just find super troubling. Especially since this is a feminist comic.
I‘m kinda heartbroken
I‘ve been reading a bunch of comics I‘ve had for far to long during #24in48. This cover is by far my favorite. I‘m so sad that this run only lasted for 8 issues. I love the lighter style, humor, and feminist tone.
The first 3 comics in this book are DELIGHTFUL. Like they end so wonderfully and the story is fun, witty, and interesting. The art work is A+. And then they tacked on 2 random dude comics at the end (bc they scrapped the Mockingbird series at #8) that I legit cannot force myself to finish. Such breasts and shitty storytelling.
Anyways the actual Mockingbird comics are totally worth your time!
Ugh the last comic in this book is made by like 90% dudes and it's TERRIBLE. All breasts and way too many characters. How dare they take this amazing feminist book and then end it with an unrelated dude comic?
"He's always judging me. He says I load the dishwasher wrong. That I hog the blankets. That my costume shows too much thigh"
"You murdered a man in cold blood, Bobbi."
"See there. That's what I'm talking about." ?
I love her😝 ! I need to find some more of these.. 🥂
I loved this graphic novel, and I‘m so glad my fave author got a chance in this type of story telling. It was absolutely crazy and sarcastic and amazing. I‘m sad that Marvel did a revamp and this run was cut short. I feel like it didn‘t quite get a chance to take wing. Still, it was a fun ride.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oof...what a fall from grace after the first volume! This would have been a so-so just because the story kinda sucked, but this little blurb tipped it over: it's not okay to imply that strong women who make their own decisions can't be or are even less likely to be raped. If women in the military can be raped, so can fucking Mockingbird. She wasn't, fine, but this ISN'T the reason why.
I‘m finishing this one outside, because it‘s 60 degrees outside right now! ❤️❤️❤️ The trees are still waiting for Spring, of course, but they‘re so beautiful.
This was so good! I'm seriously considering getting Marvel Unlimited so that I can dive into all the other characters stories.

I re-read volume 1 and read volume 2 on my way home from vacation yesterday. I had forgotten how much I liked the humor in the first one. I didn't like the second quite as much but it was still good.
So I really enjoyed this issue but...is that it? Is there not going to be a vol. 3? I'm super confused and must do research!
only 3 comics from the Cain and Niemczyk team - what there was is very enjoyable with lots of wit in both dialogue and illustrations.
This cruise ship full of corgis and PDX airport carpet are only a few of the reasons why I love this book.
So I'm sort of not really half heartedly on a book buying ban until June 21.... but I couldn't resist this! Since it was cancelled I bought the first and second volume. Mostly for the cover. But I also want to read it. #thisiswhatafeministlookslike
An embarrassment of pre-ordered #graphicnovel riches in the mail today! #bookmail is the best mail 😊📚📬
Loving all these strong females on the covers too! #FeministAgenda #TheFutureisFemale 🙆💓✊
Not as good as volume one.
Chelsea Cain's run on MOCKINGBIRD was phenomenal, among Marvel's best in recent years. This collection, the second and final of her too-brief tenure, however, is a bad reflection of the book's strengths, offering just 3 Cain issues for $15.99. It also includes reprints of Brian Michael Bendis' late-00s revival with the character that features none of Cain's wit and little of Kate Niemczyk's excellent visual storytelling. A great book ill-treated.
I'm so sad Chelsea Cain's run of Mockingbird was cancelled, but I am so grateful for the issues we do have. 🖤🖤
The kingdom of the lost mercorgis!
OMG dying! This is amazing!
De-stress with these daily yoga poses. By Bobbi Morse.
I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH.
FUCK YOU MARVEL FOR CANCELLING IT.
Not sure what her actual agenda was in this one but it was fun to read. The title goes better with the previous volume, but I understand what it was meant to be. Its a short volume, only having three issues and then some filler. It also ended the run, which is a bit unfortunate. Alll the same, it was a series focused on white feminism and wasn't at all intersectional, so not a total loss. Fun to read when you're not counting on it as political.
Feminist crafts & nasty woman cocktails while blasting Lemonade. 💪🏼🍹
In case you were wondering how D.C. feels about this ordeal, our trip to Michaels was crowded because everyone there was buying protest supplies for the #WomensMarch 😂 We had to wait to get to the posterboard aisle. #Resist
A+. I am so sad that this ended, but hopefully we will see more from Cain and Niemczyk. The art. The story. The characters. All fantastic and I'm so glad the Mockingbird had the chance to prove just what a great leading lady she could be. (Plus I love Clint and Hunter.)
