Here are my two new picks from my monthly #bookcaseclub box. I‘m super excited about this unboxing. The synopses are wicked; both mysteries in their own rights. They are being added to my never-ending TBR pile.

This one took a while for me to finish. It‘s one of those books that if you‘re reading it it‘s enjoyable but once you put it down there isn‘t a rush to get back to it. I still thought it was pretty good though.
Finally starting the new Stephanie Oakes book. Already loving the voices.
Adored this one. A mystery, 1980s Berlin, and the best seizure alert pug ever. There‘s a whole bunch of stuff going on in this book and some of it is fairly easy to see coming, but I enjoyed it so much I truly didn‘t care. (Also hi Litsy 👋 I‘m going to try to remember to post regularly again!)
This book was so, so, so good! Three POVs, some fire, some mental health, some searching for a lost mother, some Cold War. ❤️❤️
I've heard a few mixed things about this book, and I'm still not sure whether or not I should read it. Loving the cover art though. #LibraryWishlist
Have any of my fellow Littens read this book? Would you recommend? Please let me know. ☺️
Cover betrayal! The cover is only vaguely related to the story of the book. This book is actually more of a historical fiction mystery (just less death--the than Sarah's Key.)
The book had a bit of a slow beginning and I found the historic chapters much more fascinating than the present time ones. That being said, this was a fantastic book that included a time period I love (GDR/Berlin Wall). Bit of murder & romance but lots of mystery and loss.
Definitely a Halloween/Autumn read that I can actually use for the Boo!kish Bingo in the Life & Lit group
So I loved this book. Was it perfect? Nope. Did I occasionally trip over a metaphor or description? Yes. Did the narrative occasionally get bogged down in coincidence or leaps of logic? Yes. Did it impede enjoyment? Not at all.
Three narratives weave together to take us from Monterey, CA to East Berlin to Ahmadi, Kuwait; from present day to the Cold War; from a high school dropout's essays to an Anne Frank-esque diary. Completely engrossing.
When I picked up this ARC, I was not expecting to learn something. But one of the characters is (literally) born during the Kuwaiti oil fires of the Gulf War, and one of the characters is attempting to escape the scrutiny of the Stasi in 1989 East Germany, and the rest? #itshistory, and I'm learning SO much. Plus, this cover is gorgeous! (Releases 8/22)

That cover tho. 🔥 🔥🔥
Walked into work to discover a package waiting for me! I love #bookmail at 6am!
OOOOOO buddy. If you can get your hands on this, read it. Word of advice: read this in as few sittings as possible. There are a lot of tiny details that contribute to the big picture. Loved the almost historical fiction feel to it. Love Stephanie Oakes! #thearsonist #stephanieoakes #litsyAtoZ #letterO #yalit #teenlit #teenreads #youngadult #fiction #history #berlin #fire #arson #travel #arc #yaarc #germany
I would be participating in #24in48 this weekend but instead I am at #alamw17 so the trade off isn't bad. Got some pretty good books on day one! #bookhaul
