A rich, evocative fantasy novel which I thoroughly enjoyed. I like sword and planet novels, and this one was really good.

⭐⭐⭐ Very beautiful story but needed more depth towards the ending. It was abrupt and felt hurried along instead of extending into more of what could have been told. I realy enjoyed this book but hate when I want more and it just feels like the ending is rushed and all the key elements just vanished!
I'm halfway through and I am loving it! Freedom to the people and peace throughout.
My goal for January was to read 2 books and I am already on book 3....really good start to the New Year!
💞 February ❤ #BookSpinBingo ❤ List.
January was a slow start for reading, I found out early in the month I am pregnant with my 3rd little bean and have been super sick! Hoping to get more reading done when I start to feel better! 💜💖

This is the first book, set in a world dominated by a the Vathek Empire. Amani is kidnapped and taken to the royal palace where she finds out that she looks almost identical to princess Maram. She will be her body double as the princess is hated ny her people.
I really enjoyed this book and will get the second book in Aug when it comes out. #bookcovers
Here is my wrap-up for #booked2020 winter!
“The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” and “Mirage” were my favorites.

Who knew that fantasy/ sci-fi was what I needed to take my mind off things? This was a really strong debut with beautiful writing and an intriguing setting. I‘m usually not one for insta-love, but I would have fallen for Idris, too. 😂And I loved the relationship between Amani and Maram. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

#bookspin 2nd time. All the same books as last time minus the one that got picked last time. Added in mirage this time
#weeklyforecast:
I started “Mirage” today, really enjoying it so far. Going to work on that and eventually, more reading prompts this week.
@Cinfhen
Solid meh. The ending redeemed a lot of it. I enjoyed the relationships between the girls, but would've liked more world building. Or maybe better world building? I never got a good sense of the place or of the technology, honestly. Not my favorite.

My latest buddy read was this beauty! A great blend of sci-fi and fantasy, a slow-burn romance (always the best!), with deceptions, plots and secrets! 💛 And just look at that gorgeous Fairyloot cover! 😍

I‘ve been training in a new role at work so moving through audiobooks slower and longer days combined with the training means I have been moving through regular books slower too—but I am slipping in some audio before bed
Ok, so I put off reviewing this book for nearly a week. This book‘s score is really low, and very few people seemed to have liked it. But I loved it. I loved the world and the characters and the plot. I was totally drawn in and intrigued and thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. This was my first ever Owlcrate that I read and I was not disappointed. I loved it. I‘d tell everyone to read it if I could. But then again, I seem to be in the minority.
I couldn't get into this one, even though I tried for book club. Admitting defeat and moving on to the next.
Loooooooovvvveeeee. Listened to the audiobook, the narrator was one of my favorites ever and it was her first audiobook!
This ended up being a real disappointment. It sounded so intriguing and I loved getting a YA fantasy from a new kind of cultural background and lore and language. But even the basic genre here was muddled—a mix of sci-fi and vague fantasy that never fully worked for me. It‘s also quite slow—very little actually happens other than the very beginning and ending, just a lot of dresses and walking and traveling. The insta-love was....no. Sigh. 2/5 ⭐️
Okay, this is wild. I almost never see my mom‘s name anywhere, not in real life nor in books or other media. And now book number 6 of 2019 is the second one with a character named Nadine!
Gotta say, I usually like Owlcrate‘s exclusive covers, but they totally whiffed on this one. The original is this gorgeous deep purple (my favorite color) with the gold lettering and design. Not many purple books out there! But for some reason, Owlcrate decided to just change it to plain old black. Like...........whyyyyy tho?? I don‘t get how they thought this was better. But oh well! Hopefully the story inside is more exciting. #nowreading
So this was my first book of 2019 and I was a bit disappointed. I love the Moroccan Sci fi world that the author created but I found the plot weak and slow. It is obviously going to have a sequel because of the lack of ending but I feel it she had tried to make it a stand alone novel it would have worked better.
✨It took me so long to read this book.. I couldn't really get in to it.. I can't really do even a decent review of it, because I can't remember half the book. Mostly finished it to satisfy my OCD. #owlcrate 💜
Not my best reading month as I slumped hard and didn‘t read anything for the first two weeks. Luckily I was able to push through and read this bunch which were just amazing, some in completely different ways.

Oh, wow. This is a stunning, lush futuristic fairytale that grips you with its beautiful language from the first page and doesn‘t let go till the last line. You come for the poetic writing; you stay for the heart-rending plot, and the enchanting, refreshingly nuanced characters. A powerful, mesmerizing story about the power of faith, love, heritage, and hope in the darkest moments of oppression. ★★★★☆.
#currentlyreading | ok so the first page already has me like 😭 so I‘m pretty sure this book is going to break me. #hereforit #yalitsy 🙌🏽 😍
Starting this next as part of my #OwlCrate #backlog ! I‘m just going to go back one book at a time 🤷🏻♀️ anywhooo, this has an interesting concept and I can‘t wait to read it!📖 #currentread
3.5 Stars. Overall, Mirage was an average read. It wasn‘t the spectacular sci-fi fantasy I was hoping for, but it wasn‘t bad either. I would recommend it for fans of the genre, but it may annoy readers who tend to read mostly ya. Mirage would also be ok for younger ya readers, which is something so many books are lacking today. I did enjoy the story, but I may or may not read the sequel to this good, but slightly bland read.
I wasn‘t sure how I would like it even though the premise intrigued me, but spoiler, I enjoyed it quite a lot. More so than I thought I would!
Damn it. I accidentally checked out more books! The #newBooks shelves are a trap, y‘all! #readersofinstagram #AmReading #BookBeast
4⭐'s. The thought of getting abducted and forced to pretend to be someone else just because you look like them is scary. It was a good story though. Never give to hope!
Three days. Only 30 Pages. I really hope this gets better soon.
