Rupi Kaur writes such impressive and strong poems. More than once she took my breath away, more than once I had to remember how to breath. Those poems are for all that went through trauma, for everyone who's healing, for everyone who's fighting through another day.

Another quick read at 30 minutes. The poetry is very healing and empowering!! 🥛🍯
My next roll of #BookishMonopoly led me to “Blind Choice“. But since I reduced my TBR to basically 0, that one went a bit obsolete. So I decided to let SpinnerWheel choose my next book. And it landed on Rupi Kaurs “Milk and Honey“ and I could't be more happy with the choice!

I loved the messages in the collection. So many resonated with me. She has quickly become one of my favorite poets. #poetrymatters
Meh. Not really poetry. Repetitive. Some nice messages sprinkled throughout though.
I have heard good and bad things about this book. I was not sure what to think about this book as it‘s had so many contrive reviews. This book hit home. This book hit somewhere deep in my heart. The connection and relation I had to these poems was more than enough for me to love this book. Kaur speaks of love, pain, and self love. It creates an impact that you are not likely to forget
Such a great exploration into love, loss, trauma, and healing. This book deserves to be read in one sitting and deserves to be read by all women. All women deserve to hear they are extraordinary and to see themselves through the pages of this book.
“I have what I have and I am happy I‘ve lost what I‘ve lost and I am still happy - outlook”
― Rupi Kaur, Milk and Honey
I don't know what to say about this book...
I just didn't like it as much as I would like to. I know that poetry is a personal thing and nobody can judge it, in fact I'm not saying it's not good, just that I didn't get some of the poetries.
Don't know...
⭐️⭐️
no
it won't
be love at
first sight when
we meet it'll be love
at first remembrance cause
i've seen you in my mother's eyes
when she tells me to marry the
type
of man i'd want to raise my son
to be like
i struggle so deeply
to understand
how someone can
pour their entire soul
blood and energy
into someone
without wanting
anything in
return
- i will have to wait till im a
mother
This book was a nice reminder of how joyful reading poetry can be and the double meanings
“you might not have been my first love
but you were the love that made
all other loves seem
irrelevant”
❤️

Haven‘t been able to read the past two days because of a killer migraine that won‘t go away. I went to sleep with it and woke up with it. I still managed to clean my house, but my 2y/o has been extra terrible today on top of everything. We‘re gonna be iced in tomorrow so I hope my head feels better so I can enjoy my snow day with a good book. Send me some positive vibes.. 😔😩
If the hurt comes then so will the happiness. -Rupi Kaur I picked this quote because it‘s true. It‘s true because if you don‘t feel sad you will never know what it feels like to be happy.
THIS
I‘m always astounded when someone has put the words of my heart to paper.
Revisiting some Rupi Kaur to help soothe my soul. I read it years ago and didn‘t really get it but now I do. I guess you have to be in certain headspace to feel it.
Milk and honey is a book of personal flaws. It touches deep into your personal life and heals what you didn‘t know was damaged. The poems listed inside the book are personal, and imperfect which makes the book stronger in the message being sent throughout. It helps your flaws resurrect as beauty and opens your eyes to what may be hidden under a persons skin.
1. Haruki Murakami, Wilkie Collins, Neil Gaiman
2. Hmm... 🤔 I'd say Hiraku Makimura (in Dance Dance Dance by Haruki Murakami) - an unsuccessful overrated writer character... 😆 Honi soit qui mal y pense...
3. Tagged. Saw it today when shopping for #jolabokaflodswap and #littlechristmasswap and bought it immediately. Discovered it on here earlier this year... Typical #blameitonlitsy buy... ⬇
“You Wisper I love you, what you mean is.. I don't want you to leave.“
Quick read. Although some people do not agree that this is poetry i am fine with whatever it is.This book consists of the hurting, the loving, the breaking and the healing.
What touches me most is that “Every time you tell your daughter you yell at her out of love you teach her to confuse anger with kindness which seems like a good idea till she grows up to trust men who hurt her cause they look so much like you” from the hurting.
4 stars out of 5
Thank you @Pogue for all the extra goodies! My son and I are currently enjoying some of the hot chocolate. #cbbc #Coffeebeanbookclub
Beautiful words of survival, love, violence, and healing. My plan was to only read 1 section of poetry per night, but I couldn‘t help myself and read the entire book in an hour 💛
This has been the hardest part of leaving behind my old life and losing my independence.
I'm hoping one day I will look back from a position of success and be able to give back to my friends and family who helped me when I fell.
I don't know what that "Success" will look like yet, but one day I hope to look back on all these struggles and be proud again ❤
Lovely... although I feel that I would have enjoyed this more when I was younger. 🤷♀️

Prompt: Fave Short Book
This is the shortest book I own. Of course it is a book of poetry.
