This is book two of this series and it picks up about 6 months after the first book ends. There is something so lyrical about how this author writes that just pulls me in. Have Kleenex handy!

I‘m really enjoying this book but it‘s taking forever because I have been having trouble reading very long lately. Not sure what‘s up with that. On an up note @Jennick2004 and I got our nails done together this morning.
Meh. I feel like I spent the first 330 pages waiting for something to happen and just mired down in the melancholy that was Liesel. The ending was beautiful and utterly fitting for an ending to both Wintersong and Shadowsong but just....I could have done without the first 3/4 of this book.
Anyone else find the pacing a bit slow in this one. I‘m a little over halfway done and feel like nothing has really happened except some weird dreams...
I‘ll admit, I wasn‘t the biggest fan of the first book, but this series has haunted me. I couldn‘t not read this one. I‘m happy to say it is captivating and completely saving me from a reading slump I was in ❤️💜
Quanti lo aspettavano? 😍😁
Io tantissimo e grazie alla @newtoncomptoneditori l'ho potuto leggere in anteprima; trovate la mia opinione completa sul Blog 😉

Since day one I have loved these books. Maybe it's just because I have a thing for folklore and stories of the Goblin King. When I was in high school I read "The Hollow Kingdom" Trilogy by Clare B. Dunkle and have read it several times since. My fiancé bought this for me before he left on his deployment. #folklore #thegoblinking #romance #fantasy #bestguyever #novels #sjaejones #wintersong #series
Hate it when you have a book you‘re so looking forward to and it just drags. Has anyone else read this book? I‘m 35% in and it‘s just sooooo slow. I keep waiting for something to happen and thinking I‘m on the cusp of it, but nothing yet. I keep falling asleep 😴 when I‘m trying to read it and it‘s not because I‘m tired. As a Labyrinth fan, I loved the first book so am truly hoping things pick up soon. 🤞
I really wanted to love it but I wasn't as sucked in as I was with the first one. I knew going in that the romance piece was settled and there really would be none of that here but for a lot of it I was waiting for the action to happen and then when it did happen I'm not certain I understood what was going on. Beautiful prose, and I really love how she dived deep into mental illness (read the authors note in the beginning)
i enjoyed SHADOWSONG more than WINTERSONG. SHADOWSONG is darker, and more about Liesl‘s madness than the Underground and the Goblin King. Beautifully written, SHADOWSONG is a brilliant sequel that leaves the reader satisfied.

I devoured Wintersong when it came out last year, and I‘ve been dying to read the sequel. So far, it is as lusciously written as Wintersong. I hope the Goblin King makes an appearance soon.

Screw that, I give up. It drags and drags and nothing happens, I am at 50% in and that took me a month. Deeply disappointed, I liked the first book.
1/4 in, very very slow😕 shame, I liked the first book. I will probably press on just so I finish the duology, but so far 2nd book bores me to distraction
Excited to finally have this book on my hand! Thank you #CHICAGOPUBLICLIBRARY! You rock, #CPL!
Shadowsong arrived today in the mail! So excited now that I have both books...>happy squeals
I really loved the follow up novel - very intense and beautifully written. Some new complicated characters yet more of my favorites. A must read series. #dogsoflitsy
Book # 5 in 2018. It‘s a cold and rainy morning. Perfect for a hot breakfast and a good book.
Just getting started on Shadowsong! Can‘t wait to see how this story ends! #obsessedwiththegoblinking #Shadowsong #netgalley
I am on the fence about this, but I think it is a pick. I felt this story slogged along, but ultimately it gave us a conclusion to the story. It was not what I expected. Also, this is probably an unpopular opinion, but trigger warnings can tend to be spoilers. The one in the author notes spoiled some of this story for me. I would have skipped it had I known. That is not the first time a trigger warning has done that lately. Ugh.
I really enjoyed. Couldn‘t put it down and ended up reading it in a day. However, I feel like the end was rushed and not fully developed....perhaps a third book? I love her writing style..it‘s lyrical almost. I would recommend this book.
I just got this in the mail today! I can't wait to dive in! @christmassquirrel
I was lucky enough to revive an ARC o Shadowsong and I‘m finally getting around to reading it with just five days before it‘s release date. Oh well, better late than never. #currentlyreading #februaryrelease #tbr
This is tricky...this is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Wintersong, and wow, what a beautiful cover. This ironically is the dark, depressing second half of the duology, and Wintersong actually turns out to be the bright first half. S. Jae-Jones actually opens the book with a message about mental illness and about the struggles held within the book, especially for the main character Liesl. Full review here: http://bit.ly/ShadowBookReview
This book was such a ridiculous let down for me. I think maybe hardcore fans will find it an acceptable end to the duology, but I was really disappointed. It felt like a long and wandering trek through Liesel‘s depressed state. The fiery relationship between her and the Goblin King was almost entirely missing, and there weren‘t many redeeming moments of success or joy or romance or whatever to balance out the frustrating and sluggish main plot.
Although I wasn't a huge fan of Wintersong, I tried to enter this book with an open mind. I really respect the author's trigger warnings on the very first page, but overall, this sequel just didn't do it for me. There basically wasn't any true action until like 280 pages in - not a good sign. I liked the dramatic, creepiness aspect, but not a lot of true plot made this a little painful to read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Early Christmas present to me!! 🎄Wintersong was one of my absolute favorite books of 2017! #netgalley #shadowsong #happydance
Oh. My. God. The. FEELINGS. So good. Such a great follow up to Wintersong!! I love it but hate that I finished!! Moooorrreeee please!!
This book was a magical read. Action and adventure on every page. Pulls you in from the very beginning. Many unexpected twists and turns. I highly recommend it!
I was lucky enough to receive not one but two Goodreads giveaways today, ARCs for ‘Gods of Howl Mountain‘, and ‘Shadowsong‘. Luckily they are both releasing in March and February so I don‘t have to cram into my December pile!!! Excited for these two!
Received this beautiful ARC in the mail this morning! Can't wait to dive in!
I have book one, and lent it to a friend, so I have not read it yet. I've heard nothing bad. And I do want to get it read. Maybe before book 2 comes out. #coverlove #YAedition
