Before and After: A Novel | Rosellen Brown

My 7 year old‘s reading loft is finished!! 😍 He has 2 closets, so we decided to do something fun with one. My dad built the reinforced platform and ladder and I did the rest. Painting the trim white was super not fun. It‘s a big room and it took 4 coats to cover that drab tan. 😩 So happy with the outcome, though! 💚

My 5 year old gets one, too, but it‘s not finished yet. I‘ll posts photos of it eventually.

LibrarianRyan I totally get the covering with white. I have this weird brown wall. I have at least 7 coats of white paint on it and I and everyone else can STILL see the brown. This looks awesome BTW. 5y

britt_brooke @LibrarianRyan It‘s so annoying trying to cover dark walls, etc! So much work. 😩 I still have to paint the trim and doors in my other son‘s room, and naturally, he has crown moulding, too. Not cool. Luckily, the rest of the house is not like this! 5y

britt_brooke @saresmoore Thanks so much! 💚 Yes, definitely well worth it .... and I listened to a few audiobooks along the way. 🤓👏🏻 My other son‘s room has the same tan/brown accents plus crown moulding, so that‘s the next project. 🙄 Luckily, the rest of the house is not like that. 5y

Non-bookish post (apologies for that) but I wanted to share with my Litsy fam. This past year has been a journey - I had weight loss surgery, started working out 4x/wk, completely overhauled my diet, and lost 75 pounds. These two pictures were taken exactly one year apart (😱). I'm just here to say - never be afraid to go after what you want!

WLS also sometimes has a weird stigma, so I'm trying not to hide that part of me. I'm proud of myself!
