Ain‘t going to lie it is taking everything I have not to bail on this one. I LOVE her stories and characters, how they are all unique and strong even with social oddities. BUT I don‘t like being preached to unless I am looking for it. This is a romance novel, NOT a social justice book. I am looking for fun escape from the BS of the world not to have it thrown at me.

And of course I've started another Winston Brother book. Was surprised by the gap in the time-line between this and the last one. Have ordered Engagement and Espionage, which I think will fill in some of the time, but it's not technically romance with a capital "R." I know the next Winston Brother book goes back in time so I'm going to be all over the place. Normally this would bug me, but the writing is good and I can't bring myself to care.

I love Penny Reid‘s beard series. Great characters and hilarious moments.

These were my exact thoughts about R&J when I was in HS. It‘s still my least favorite play of Shakespeare, tbh. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as the other stories in this series.

I did like that this story had a interracial couple. I liked that Simone talked about her fear with cops despite her working at the FBI. i likes Simone and Roscoe but at times I got tired of all their inner thoughts that tended to be dry.

Looking forward to Billy‘s story once it‘s out.

This was wonderful, one of my favorites of the series for sure. Though technically a stand alone, these are better in order. #romantsy

As always, I love anything Penny writes, but Simone and Roscoe are possibly my new favorites (it‘s hard to top Janie & Quinn, but I think they did). The romance in this book is extra sweet, extra beautiful and had an extra layer of gritty realism to round it out. I cannot wait for Billy‘s book! #romantsy
