I‘d bought my books and was leaving when I spotted the bargain table and this beauty was looking for a home - I‘ve read it already but I loved it so - back to the register I went 🤣🤩

I just loved this story, and the two main characters Birdie and Daniel. They end up working together after an awkward encounter. They try to work out their relationship both have some emotional baggage to deal with. Their is a mystery too, but it isn't the main part of the story. You just really want them together!

Birdie is starting her first job, dealing with loss and some complicated relationships, and trying to solve a real life (not murder) mystery. There are quirky characters in this one, which reminded me of cozy mysteries. (Especially Aunt Mona). The book is told by Birdie, who is established as sheltered and a bit naive. I wanted to shake her a few times as she read so much into anything another character said to her.

My current read happens to have been a #gift for my birthday! I better get it read before it is time to get more gifts for the holidays.

During this low key Thanksgiving weekend I‘ve gotten a lot of reading done! That was my main #Feastmode goal, just to read as much as I could. Starting this one with Hallmark movies in the background.

The other day I visited my local little free library and donated three 📚books (loveless, radio silence, and serious moonlight).

Cheating just a little bit for this one. Publication date: April 16, 2019. I started it within 12 months of publication 😉

This book was so cute 🥰 I hadn't read any purely romance books before discovering Litsy and I'm so glad that the three I have tried have been amazing. Might have to try reading Jenn Bennett's other books now.

How have I not discovered Jenn Bennett before this? I loved this book. Quirky main character, hot Asian American male love interest (can we get more of this please?) and solving a mystery in an old Seattle hotel. Jenn Bennett is incredible when she describes the settings of her books. I felt like I was in Seattle with the characters! #yacontemporary #jennbennett

While I'm pretty much off work at @FountainBookstore because of my full time job in healthcare, I did make a early run this morning to pick up some books before my coworker came in to do online orders (we're closed except for pickups and shipping). I ordered the 4th HP illustrated book, grabbed the tag book bc I wanted a physical copy, Sin in the Second City for book club, and the RuPaul drag tarot and Bites of Terror just for funsies.

2020 so far has felt like a loooooong year - is it Christmas yet?

Anyway this is what I read in March! Nowhere near what I thought I would... but April is a fresh start!

After being in a bit of a general panic about *everything* when I finally managed to convince myself to read - I freaking loved this! And not just because there were several mentions of my bae, Jessica Fletcher 🥰

2nd book read during Contemporary-A-Thon, 7 challenges which I combined in 3 books. This one was in my tbr for a long time. YA book, it has cultural diversity (Japan), it has a love story (#ReadingwithMaja) & some kind of mystery which at the end was more related with family drama. Topics like narcolepsy condition & suicide attempts are discussed. For me reading goes from ok to so-so but some persons might like it because it has cute scenes. 3⭐️

My lil heart wasn‘t really in the mood for a ya contemporary but I felt like I had to read it especially because my best friend was squealing about it all day. So I read it, and I enjoyed it even though I felt a little disconnected. It felt totally Seattle tho, and I want to go back.

Also I just read this today and it‘s only been 8 hours but I already want to reread it. Is this going to go on my favorites list? Only time will tell...

Bennett has such a way with words. Her characters are irresistibly relatable, and her stories are deeply emotional. I might just read anything she puts on paper.

I went searching for a book relating to #moonlight and found this. It sounds cute, and thanks to the title I now have David Bowie‘s Lets Dance playing in my head, so that‘s a win. #FallisBooked

After a day of too much homework and not enough (fun) reading, I couldn‘t resist indulging while listening to this book. #24b4monday

This was REALLY angsty. Birdie is a champion over-thinker. I thought I was an over-thinker but she leaves me in the dust. I did get a little annoyed with that but at the same time she felt very real so it was probably a good thing. Daniel, Jiji, Mona, and Grampa Hugh were delightful. Over all I liked this even though it was darker than I expected.

This book is pretty intense in the romance department and in the complex characters. I would recommend it but carefully. TW: suicide

I really liked this! It was a romance with a little mystery, and some good banter! This was a random selection from the library and I'm pleased it turned out to be so good!

Full of heart, misdirection, mystery, & fate. Another great addition to the contemporary kick I seem to by on right now.

I LOVED this book! Full of romance, mystery, real life games of Clue, pie, and mistakes!

I'm on the train on my way back from BookExpo (alternating between reading tagged book and SSDGM on audio) and the Hubs keeps sending me ridiculously adorable pics of our dog Pages. So ready to be home!

Big fan of this author, and this book was fantastic! I loved everything about it! Makes me want to go back to Seattle again.

I‘ve read two books by Jenn Bennett and I loved both. It‘s to the point now where I anxiously await her new releases!

Raised in isolation and homeschooled by strict grandparents. Birdie cultivated a whimsical fantasy life in which she plays the heroic detective and every stranger is a suspect. But her solitary world expands when she takes a job the summer before college, working the graveyard shift at a historic Seattle hotel.

This was a cute YA contemporary book about two teens who have an awkward encounter & then meet again. Fate? Serendipity? Sheer dumb luck? When the opportunity to solve a mystery presents itself, along with an opportunity to see if they can move beyond that first encounter, how can they say no? They can‘t! Love the Seattle setting, the fun, quirky secondary characters, the two main characters & all the twists & turns. A fun, quick read.
