“I know this is going to sound strange, but would you mind being my girlfriend for the next five minutes?”
A short, fluffy little palette cleanser! I‘m a sucker for a book that takes place in the span of one night/day. The movie is hilarious! I love Kat Dennings, she‘s a goddess!!
Gonna be honest I read this mainly because I wanted to read Nick and Noel‘s Christmas Playlist and had never read this one or watched the movie. I felt pretty meh about this book overall. Not horrible but just kind felt like “that‘s it?” 🤷🏻♀️

1. I taught myself how to cut my own bangs the summer between 7th and 8th grade. First few times were not good lol. I successfully cut my own bangs for 25 years before growing them out a few years ago.
2. My amazing family, friends, books and that tomorrow is finally Friday. It‘s been a loooooonnng week.

NYC, a shy-turned-steamy romance, the music scene, characters that are simultaneously quirky *and* cool... there are so many elements of Nick and Norah‘s Infinite Playlist that Teen Alli would have thought were great. Somehow, she missed the boat on this one back in high school, but I finally read it and discussed with Sarah from Smart Bitches Trashy Books on my podcast and it was a ton of fun! 🎼 Link to listen in bio!
This was a reread, and I remember thinking I enjoyed both the book and the movie, which are pretty different. This reminded me that the book is in fact better, by a lot. It's a great YA set over the course of one night. Wouldn't recommend if your sensitive to language or profanity.

This was the moment I decided for sure I hated this book. Patti Smith is a fucking legend. Norah was insufferable and Nick wasn‘t much better. The only good character in the book was NYC. If not for the fact that I‘m so looking forward to going back there in November, I‘d have hated this completely. Also, it‘s billed as YA and it had more unnecessary profanity than any adult novel I‘ve ever read. Maybe the movie will be better.
No. They wanna hold your hand. They have such a feeling that they can't hide. Every single successful song of the past fifty years can be traced back to 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand.' And every single successful love story has those unbearable and unbearably exciting moments of hand-holding.
"She's cinematic and I'm a f**king sitcom."
I really debated between four and five stars for this. Overall, I loved it. Nick and Norah are great characters. Messy and stupid and young and clever and funny. I watched the movie first, which I hardly ever do, and it really doesn‘t do the book justice. Tris, in particular, got the short end of the stick. She‘s fantastic. I didn‘t like the whole “straight edge” thing, and I found it unnecessary. Continued in comments.
4/5 Stars. I picked up this book, because i love the movie. This book was good, and I read it in one sitting. It was a good short story, and I enjoyed the back and forth between the two main characters told from the two different authors.
#90sspringfling This is so much fun! 🎶🎶🎶
I picked 10 songs... one from each of the Albums that I played on repeat in the 90s! Spotify playlist attached.... plus a Youtube link to the Eddi Reader (still my favorite singer) as her first solo album is not available to stream....🙁

As soon as I heard the song this movie instantly popped into my mind! I watched it in middle school with my mom, and through searching I found it has a book! How cool 😁 and I absolutely love Patti Smith #BecauseTheNight #MarchIntoThe70s @Cinfhen @Lizpixie
This was one of the rare occasions where Ive watched the movie before I read the book so I already knew what was going to happen, or so I thought. The movie took very few things from the book, probably in an attempt to make it more marketable to younger viewers and stretch a relatively quick read into a crazy and unpredictable adventure. All in all, I liked both.
Book 2 of 2019. #readingbucketlist
This is one of the few times where I have seen the movie before I've read the book. So far....the book is better. 😊

“I‘m winding through the Lower East Side now, on the streets that have names and not numbers. The night is still very much young here, hipster congregants exhaling their smoke from sidewalk #square to sidewalk square. I find a parking space on the darker side of Ludlow, then convince Norah to retrace Jessie‘s steps until we‘re in front of a pink door.

? Kam bei „Der satanarchäolügenialalko-höllische Wunschpunsch“, „Fool On The Hill“ und „Die Frau des Zeitreisenden“ vor. „1984“ zählt nicht, da Klassiker. ?)
SO. MUCH. NOSTALGIA!!! Super fun book for anyone who's ever spent a night in NYC at a skeevy bar watching a band & getting swept up in it all! So basically, most of my 20s. ? I love the B&Ts making fun of themselves & the references to Maxwell's in Hoboken (I B&T'd it in reverse), the Virgin Megastore, The Strand! Points off for overuse of the word "bitch" but that's personal. Similar to the film but they can stand on their own.
I'M STILL WAITING FOR MY GRAFTON BOOK! Don't you judge me!!!! ? I loved this movie so I'm going to give the book a shot! The funniest part of the film is realizing how movie magic works and that they picked better looking bathrooms than the ones in the actual clubs!!!! I can't recall where they were, maybe the Bowery or a place by the Bowery and I told my husband, "Uh, that is NOT the ladies room!" ?
It‘s been ages since I have read Nick & Nora, but it was a great read. And while Eleanor & Park isn‘t specifically about music, music is a big part of what brought them together.

I love watching my nieces and they want to play outside. Gives me great reading time! (When they don‘t want me pushing them on a swing or timing their races!😂)
I‘m not loving this book though. It‘s causing a lot of eye rolls 🙄😂
I know this is going to sound strange, but would you mind being my girlfriend for the next five minutes?

I shouldn't want the song to end. I always think of each night as a song. Or each moment as a song. But now I'm seeing we don't live in a single song. We move from song to song, from lyric to lyric, from chord to chord. There is no ending here. It's an infinite playlist.
"I'm confessing that I don't know if I'm ready for this."
"What is 'this '?"
Being open. Being hurt. Liking. Not being liked. Seeing the flicker on. Seeing the flicker off. Leaping. Falling. Crashing.
1. I don‘t know that I have a favorite but I really enjoyed Nick and Norah‘s Infinite Playlist.
2. U2
3. Best concert—1989, Eric Clapton outside the walls of the Old City in Jerusalem. I stood right in front of the stage and it was AMAZING.
4. Really depends on my mood but most days anything by U2. (When I‘m cranky or angry, it‘s Rage Against the Machine and/or Green Day)

When you should be working on your book but instead are making a playlist for your characters instead....
#SurvivingDecember This is one of the very first YA books I really got hooked on! I loved the movie too, although that seems to be an unpopular opinion amongst the readers lol When you #wanttosmile, lend an ear to Nick's brooding(whining) and Norah's quick wit(bitching) 😂
Yesterday I watched the film for Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist. First, I can't believe the film is almost 10 years old! The movie was cute, but I loved the audiobook. I thought all the characters were more relatable in the book. I also found that while the novel described teen sexuality, the movie sexualized teens - the teens had more ownership of it in the story. I've got two more #BookvsMovie reviews in the works, and I #blameitonLitsy. #ya
This was highly enjoyable as an #audiobook. The narrators made Nick and Norah's romance come alive and it was lots of fun to listen to. Although it's listed as YA, the way the sexual content and explicit language was handled read more like new adult fiction to me.

This is a yet another book on my TBR pile. I love to read romances in the summer and I am super excited to start this one!!!
I was looking for something fun and quick to read and this was perfect! Told in alternating perspectives written by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn it tells the story of these two music obsessed high schoolers as they run around the city and fall in love over the course of their night out.

"You know the reason The Beatles made it so big?...'I Wanna Hold Your Hand.' First single. Fucking brilliant. Perhaps the most fucking brilliant song ever written. Because they nailed it. That's what everyone wants."

Thought the book would be as good as the movie -- I was wrong. The dialogue was the best part -- lots of witty banter between the two characters. Other than that, the story was pretty boring and a little all over the place. Just watch the film.
