Four books I plan to read in November which are presumably #factual. I too rarely read nonfiction! I have a real mental block against it. 😬

(Captain Adorable preparing for his rock star life.) This 500-page book was edited down from 1,000 pages. It‘s still too long. I imagine part of the difficulty was that Pete Townshend has done so much in his life! The man is a genius, maneuvering through all aspects of music, writing, producing. 7/8ths of the book was captivating. The reminder of the vast number of bands that started in a five year period in the 60‘s made me very nostalgic.
I had to laugh at this. Know any cleaning ladies who require a copy of your marriage license? How things have changed since the late 1960‘s.
Pete Townshend just blew my mind. I had no idea that Jimi Hendrix was briefly the warm-up band for the Monkees. I can‘t even picture what that must have been like.
New book announced by Pete Townshend, titled The Age of Anxiety. Book, art installation, and opera planned! Link: https://www.theguardian.com/books/2019/mar/05/the-whos-pete-townshend-announces-...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕 Pete did not let me down! This was everything I had hoped it would be and more!! And although I bought the physical copy, I also bought the audiobook which narrated himself! It was HEAVENLY!!💕🤓💕
#mygeneration #rocktober So I‘m at the end of the boomers, too young to be a hippie, but as a child , very aware of the 60‘s good and bad. In the disco era ,I was a combination punk/mod revival/ Manchester Joy Division girl .So, I had lots of time to read.I enjoyed not being understood!Always obsessed with The Who,so with that tag, just had to post these.
Excited to read this!! I am a HUGE fan of The Who, and most particularly of Pete; I have been since I was 12. How I spent the past 5 years not knowing this existed is beyond me! But now I have the physical book and the audiobook which he narrated himself!! Totally fan girling over here!!

Whenever I attempt at describing The Who I say that their genius lay in turning the typical rock band upside down. I say that in The Who the bass was the lead instrument while the guitar held down the rhythm and the drums provided fills rather than a steady beat. Based on this statement it would seem that Townshend agrees with me. 😁
Since I tore through THE QUEEN OF THE TEARLING in only a couple of days I'm starting this now. The Who's TOMMY was an incredibly important album in my teens. Over the years my respect for and interest in Pete Townshend as an artist has grown and I now consider him one of the most interesting artists of the past 50 years. In other words, I'm really looking forward to reading this.
This took an incredibly long time for me to read. Was it worth it? Maybe not. I love The Who, though, and that's why it's a "so-so" instead of "bail".
