I posted this picture almost 10 months ago when I received this book in the mail. I had determined I was too anxious to wait for the library copy and yet I did not start it until a few days ago 😂

I always think I know what I‘m gonna read next but somehow or other I end up reading something different.

First book of the year (along with Book 2 of The Emperor‘s Edge series). I‘m enjoying this but I am so over this “Red Tie” nonsense. I am probably irrational but it‘s kind of a pet peeve of mine when characters nickname other characters with physical attributes (and the author then starts capitalizing it like it‘s an actual name). I‘m about 75 pages in, pace is picking up, and I think it‘s gonna get good!

Been a while since I shared what I was reading! Just finished Rules of Magic and I‘m diving into this classic. Also finally trudging my way through the Red Rising series, which is kind of disappointing me 😒

So the summer before my freshman year of college was nothing like either of these girl‘s, but I related to the anticipation completely!

The awkward moment when these two girls talked on the phone for the first time after emailing reminded me of my own experience of that with my college roomie and future BFF 😂

This book was a lot about closing a chapter and starting a new one. It seems to have entered my life at the perfect time.

I finished this one last night for #SetInACountryThatFascinatesYou. It was a cute, serendipitous love story. A little far fetched and a little predictable, but I loved the setting. #popsugar2018

I am working like mad to complete #popsugar2018. My next book will be Rust and Stardust for #truecrime. It‘s the case that supposedly inspired Lolita so I‘m anticipating an intense read.

I‘ll admit she knows how to craft a layered mystery that keeps you furiously turning pages, but the insane presumptuousness of the protagonist bugged me. She‘s a suspect in a murder and she‘s snooping around crime scenes, through other suspects‘ things, and even stealing potential evidence! No wonder everyone thinks she‘s the killer.

I‘ll still recommend it for the suspense. I appreciate the nod to the classic Christie mystery.

Believe it or not, Harry Potter. I was in middle school and pretty much ignoring the whole craze, but I was bored during study hall and my bff at the time had the first book in her backpack. I read it because I had nothing better to do and it ended up having a big impact on my life. It‘s strange how vivid this memory is after all these years 😊

I‘m a few chapters in, it‘s very good, but I can‘t help but be distracted by the fact that Victor is using a *LIBRARY BOOK* for his art project. Crossing out words to make new sentences, that‘s cool, but in a borrowed book? 😱😭

We spent all morning at the HOF museum and have settled in to get ready for the ceremony. So much Chipper love here, it‘s awesome! 🤗⚾️😍☺️❤️❤️

You know, although it only took me a few days, it was a bit tedious. I read on to find out what happened to Harriet and I was pretty disappointed in the explanation. This book was NOT my type of book, with the excessive violence and women hatred but I read anyway because it was on a challenge list and it was a bestseller. I accept that it checks a lot of boxes for some readers but it was not for me. #unpopularopinion

I‘ve reluctantly gotten over my #Stiefvater induced book hangover and have moved onto the 2nd book I “brought” on vacation via Libby. I‘ve always wanted to read this one. It was a slow start the first few chapters but it‘s picking up now 👍🏻

It took me about a month to read all 4 books of the Raven Cycle series. Just finished the last one and now I kind of don‘t know what to do with myself. It‘s depressing that it was over so fast 😩

On the long train ride out of the city after a writers conference. Good time to continue my book which I‘m enjoying so far!

I pushed through because I hate not finishing after a certain point but this is one of those unexpected cases where the movie was better. Andrea is an insufferable protagonist. Miranda‘s demands were at times unreasonable, but not taking personal calls while at work? That‘s called reality. She was so annoying

Every introvert should read this. This book is all about embracing your introversion, rather than adapting it to an extroverted world. There is a whole chapter about saying no to a party invite without making excuses 😂 You don‘t have to go out. You don‘t have to talk. Just do you and be happy 😊 👍🏻

I listened to this on audio and it was phenomenal. There was so much more detail and hardship than they had time to include in the movie, which made the story even more suspenseful. I knew how it was gonna end but I was still on the the edge of my seat.

Only thing I didn‘t like was the creepy music at the beginning and end of each disc 😳🎶

# 3 done! #4in48readathon Graphic novel all about following your own destiny and choosing a path that‘s meaningful to you. Not sure how I feel about the ending but it resonated with where I‘m at in my life right now.

Finished book # 2 for #4in48readathon late last night! The Palace Job was a super fast read. Not as good as Six of Crows but it was definitely similar if you‘re looking for a good read-alike. It‘s part of a series so we‘ll see if I continue.

Now onto book # 3!

About halfway through this one and I‘m on the fence. It‘s a heist mixed with fantasy (which I‘ve discovered I can‘t seem to get enough of), but I wish I had more background on the characters. They‘re likable but I don‘t feel like I really know them. We‘ll see where I land after another 200 pages 🤞🏻

It‘s about 1:00 - I‘ve finished my shortest book and I‘m a little over 100 pages into my longest. I have some birthday errands to run for my sister and then I shall get back to it!

This book had a lot of setup with a pretty big cast of characters, but once you get to the high point of the conflict, all that setup really brings the story to life. What Maya goes through in the aftermath of what happens to her is sadly a reality and as someone who‘s into sports, this really resonated with me.

Still tagging #marchmadnesschallenge and @JenP even though I‘m solidly out, since I was going to read this anyway!

Protagonist Alice crosses into a world of dark fairy tales. It reminded me of Alice in Wonderland and Grimm fairy tales.

This was ok. Alice and Finch were likable, and the ultimate reveal I found clever, but the prose was over-the-top and the story dragged in the middle.
