I found this chunkster from an #Irishauthor in the LFL at the community center. Others are from thrift stores, the local library, used bookstores, etc. - in other words, not acquired at retail prices. 😎

This is the first Maeve Binchy book I‘ve read. I loved her character development. I also liked the flow of the story. Each characters full story is revealed by the end. The ending leaves you hopeful but not settled. Which I liked, because I thought it was going to be predictable. I‘ll definitely read another book from this author.

Another great character - driven story. I felt like I was in a close circle of friends as I was reading it.

I am trying to not let my own feminism creep in here. But really I am disappointed by the ending. This is a book that started out okay, got great then just slowly let me down.
I am going to say it is a so-so but honestly I am in the fence. I enjoyed 3/4 of it but the sadness of the women was just a bit too much for me.

Still an hour here of the weekend. And I am on vacation so it is all weekend for 2 weeks!

Not sure what I was expecting but I am loving this book!
Why did it sit on my TBR bookcase for years? Makes me wonder what other treasures are there.

Many years ago my mom read several Binchy books and I had borrowed this one from her, the only title by Binchy I've read. Wish I could write a review but I can't remember what it was about or if I liked it.

I went through a big Maeve Binchy phase in my late teens. I absolutely adored her, and this one was my favourite. So when I came across this in a Little Free Library, I had to grab it for a reread.

I can see why Tara Road is among the most popular of Mrs. Binchy's books. There's a great cast of characters in this one. Quite enjoyed

I wasn‘t a huge fan of Tara Road; it was kind of predictable and I found it hard to like any of the characters! I was determined to finish it though, for #booked2019 #setinireland #irishauthor @Cinfhen @4thhouseontheleft @BarbaraTheBibliophage

Got in some reading while Nugget was at the groomer. I‘m feeling like this has been predictable so far but I‘m only 100ish pages in. I hope it picks up. This is my #booked2019 book set in Ireland so I gotta stick with it!

Binchy was an excellent writer. You feel as though you really know her characters. Her plots are interesting and keep you focused all the way to the end. The house swapping between Dublin and the United States made for an enjoyable adventure and provided escapes for some of the characters who had problems. It was an interesting Buddy Read which @Andrew65 hosted. I would highly recommend Binchy's books to those who would like to visit Ireland.
