Ok y‘all, it‘s time to vote. This list will be looooong. I‘ll let you know when to start voting in the comments!
The #hashtagbrigade is reading classics in 2024. Everyone is welcome, but please know that the hashtags are often ridiculous and always spoilers for that chapter. Wait until you‘ve read the chapter to read the post that day! That being said, spoilers in the comments are NEVER ok! After three warnings, I will stop tagging you….. ⬇️

BarkingMadRead 1/After that, if it happens again, I will block you. Please don‘t make me do these things. It breaks my heart. Vote for your top 3. I will tally the votes and then make our 2024 list. We will not be repeating authors next year, in order to expand our comfort zone. If two books by the same author are in the top 12, I will drop all but the one with the most votes. Next to each title, there may be a number 2 or 3. That‘s how many months it will take. 7mo
BarkingMadRead 2/if there‘s no number, we will finish it in one month. There were a lot of nominees. Be prepared!!!! 7mo

Librarybelle Oh my! So many good choices on this list! I‘m going for Mill on the Floss, The Brothers Karamazov, and Ruth. 7mo
CatLass007 #RandomClassics is scheduled to read Don Quixote in November and December of this year. So I definitely DON‘T want to read that twice. But I know we don‘t have to opt in for every book, so if it is chosen, I might participate in the discussion. So my top three, in no particular order are: Dracula by Bram Stoker, The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky, and The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. (edited) 7mo

Breathtakingly chilling. Literally finished The Herd in one day; I could not put it down. Secrets. Lies. Half-truths. Twisted together and then pulled apart in this fantastic murder mystery.

A Study in Scarlet | Arthur Conan Doyle
post image

“Leaning back in his arm-chair of an evening, he would close his eyes and scrape carelessly at the fiddle which was thrown across his knee. Sometimes the chords were sonorous and melancholy. Occasionally they were #fantastic and cheerful. Clearly they reflected the thoughts which possessed him, but whether the music aided those thoughts, or whether the playing was simply the result of a whim or fancy was more than I could determine." #QuotsySept18
