Overstory - trees are important to my family, so this story of the connection of life & trees hit home.

Beauty of Your Face - the story of a woman returning to faith later in life is powerful.

Tell the Wolves I'm Home - the forbidden bond b/t June & Toby, her uncle's partner, is heartbreaking.

I struggled to get it down from 25(ish) so there‘s a few that I could add in, but then I can‘t decide which to take out.... aargh!

Billypar Great list! Schweblin is at the top of my must-try authors for 2020. Really want to try those Miaojin and Lispector choices. And Strange Weather... @Reggie convinced me on @ReadingEnvy podcast. So basically everything on this list is a must-read for me (except Vegetarian- already read and loved) 😁 5y

batsy @Billypar I'd definitely encourage you to try them all 😁 Lispector's stories I reread over a period of a year or so... There's something about how she sees the world. And Strange Weather is just one of the loveliest books in terms of being life-affirming. Fever Dream on the other hand messed with me 😭 5y

This is my #top10ofthedecade #fictionedition I read a lot of old books so I tried to make it easier for myself by limiting it to the books published within the decade & cheated by including Jeff VanderMeer's Southern Reach trilogy as one book 😅 I'll be doing a separate one for fiction in translation later #listfever
