I‘m hoping to stay on track this week and actually read/ work towards my #WeeklyForecast 🤷🏼‍♀️we shall see!! I‘m also hoping my #AAM will knock off some other prompts too. Maybe #MagicalRealism or #AfroFuturist ??? #pop21
Also my #BookSpin and #DoubleSpin are both forecasted as well 🙌🏻💕#20 = #ReadingAsia2021 #4 = #Pop21

CBee Billy Idol has a book? So awesome 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 And how does he like, never age?!? 3y
Cinfhen Right @CBee the book isn‘t new new, maybe 3/4 years ago but I can‘t wait to listen 🎧 my brother recently recommended it to me!!! 3y
CBee @Cinfhen can‘t wait to see what you think of it! And he reads it, right? That would make it all worth it 😁 3y

BarbaraBB I am curious of Into Thin Air since @emilyhaldi loved it so much. For what country are you using it. Also - I couldn‘t get through The City We Became 😃 3y
Cinfhen Yup he reads it @CBee my brother said that‘s part of its massive appeal 🙌🏻💕 3y
Cinfhen I‘m using it for #Nepal @BarbaraBB I once started it in print but too many names/details so this time I‘m trying audio. Also @jenniferw88 read it recently and loved it!!! I‘m looking forward as it‘s a favorite of so many. I‘m totally worried about the NK book...it‘s not my typical jam 😜 3y
Kalalalatja You are on a challenge roll with all your books! 🙌 3y
KVanRead I loved The Best We Could Do. It was San Francisco‘s One City One Book pick a few years ago and saw the author speak for that and she was fantastic! 3y
Cinfhen Hehehehe 🥰I am @Kalalalatja it gives me solid direction 🎯#OnTarget 3y
Cinfhen I‘ve heard it‘s excellent @KVanRead even though comics isn‘t my general genre (edited) 3y
jenniferw88 Good luck with the audio - I think I'd have the same problem as the print! 3y
TrishB Hubby loved the Billy Idol book 👍🏻 great planning. 3y
Soubhiville I definitely think The City can fill either of those prompts! 3y
Librarybelle Lots of good reading in that forecast! 3y
Cinfhen Woohoo 🎉 thanks @Soubhiville I was hoping you‘d respond xxx 3y
Cinfhen I‘m LOVING the audiobook @jenniferw88 even though there are LOTS of names hearing it read to me makes it easier to keep track of them. 🤷🏼‍♀️I can‘t imagine what makes people want to do this!! 3y
Cinfhen I know @Librarybelle it‘s the first time I‘m SO HAPPY to be in lockdown/ I get to read and listen to audiobooks ALL DAY 3y
TheLudicReader I loved Billy Idol‘s autobiography.❤️ 3y
Soubhiville 💕 I‘m also eyeing the Billy Idol book and wondering if my library has the audio. I know next to nothing about his life but always loved his music! 3y
Lmstraubie I received The City We Became as a gift. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it. (I haven't read it yet.) 3y
emilyhaldi @Cinfhen @BarbaraBB Into Thin Air also happened to be on @Reviewsbylola #20best2020 list too! I hope you like it better on audio!🤞🏻 3y

Cinfhen Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️ @Lmstraubie HAPPY NEW YEAR 💕💕💕 I‘m a little nervous about the Jemisin / it‘s not my usual genre but I‘ve heard really good things about her writing 3y
Cinfhen Thanks @Riveted_Reader_Melissa excited for your challenge 💜 3y
Cinfhen I‘m LOVING Into Thin Air @emilyhaldi @Reviewsbylola I‘m going to try this one too 3y
Lmstraubie @Cinfhen Happy New Year 🥳 Hope your family is well. I've heard good things about it. I've never read anything else by her. I may need to pick it up sooner rather than later. 3y

My top 15 reads of the year! A Prayer for Owen Meany wins top spot, and has become an all-time favorite. Looking forward to reading more Irving. Wish I hadn‘t waited so long.

Did any of your favorites make my list?!

#bestof2020

AmyG Owen Meany is one of my most favorite books ever. I also liked The Nickel Boys and Hidden Valley Rd. (edited) 3y
Amiable Owen Meany is my all-time favorite book! I also was wowed by “The Only Plane in the Sky“ this year. Phenomenal read. 3y
kyraleseberg The Lisa Donovan memoir was a favorite for me too! 3y
See All 29 Comments
Singout So you want to talk about race and the nickel boys are both on my TBR list. Some of the others look intriguing! 3y
lynneamch Love Owen Meany. I think it's time for a reread. Hard to find the words to describe The Overstory. So much to unpack. He's given me a new understanding of our interconnectedness with nature. There are inreviews with him available online. He's incredible. 3y
Thousand-Lives Owen Meany is my absolute favorite book! 3y
Megabooks I keep meaning to read Frankisstein. Thanks for the reminder. 3y
EmilieGR So many of my favorites on this list! 3y
BarbaraBB I loved Owen too (years ago) and if he was your first Irving I‘d recommend to continue with Garp or The Cider House Rules! 3y
BarbaraBB And Interior Chinatown made it to my best of list as well 🤍 3y
britt_brooke @AmyG I still think about Owen Meany almost daily. Just brilliant. 💚 3y
britt_brooke @Amiable Owen Meany gives me chills. So good. The Only Plane in the Sky was amazing. Have you read Fall & Rise: The Story of 9/11? It‘s similar, but brilliant as well. 3y
britt_brooke @kyraleseberg So glad to hear it! I picked it up because she‘s a local (Nashville) author, but it surprised me in such a good way. So well done! 3y
britt_brooke @Singout Both excellent!! 3y
britt_brooke @lynneamch The Overstory was my second favorite. 💚 I read it last January and it blew me away. I didn‘t think any read could top it until Owen Meany, but they are so different. Two of my longest reads of the year. Both amazing. I need to stop being intimidated by chunksters! 3y
britt_brooke @Thousand-Lives I can 100% see why! 💚 I think it about it almost daily. Just brilliant. 3y
britt_brooke @Megabooks I really think you‘ll like it! 3y
britt_brooke @BarbaraBB Definitely planning to read Garp and Cider House this year! I read Interior Chinatown after Liberty mentioned it on All the Books earlier in the year and it blew my mind. It was just so clever and brilliant. 3y
Amiable @britt_brooke Yes, I read “Fall & Rise.” Another phenomenal read. 3y
britt_brooke @Amiable Absolutely. 3y
britt_brooke I knew I missed the hashtag 🤦🏼‍♀️ .... it‘s not #20best2020 but just 15. I‘m still tagging you, Cindy! 😂 @Cinfhen (edited) 3y
Cinfhen Thanks for the tag!!! I LOVE seeing these lists and yours is really interesting!!!!! I need to check out a few titles im not familiar with. I LOVED Owen too!!!! And Hidden Valley & Only Plane both made my list too!! Hidden Valley was in my Top 5 🥰I‘m most curious about 3y
Cinfhen I know this sounds crazzzy but can u start tagging me on all of your book reviews🙏🏼🙌🏻I feel like im missing really good recommendations because I hardly ever catch your posts when I‘m scrolling xxx if u remember that would be AWESOME!! I love that @Megabooks does that for me 😘😘 3y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen Thank you! It‘s a good mix. 💚 I think you‘ll like Our Lady of Perpetual Hunger. I picked it up because Donovan is a local author, and it surprised me in a such an emotional way. Raven is outstanding! 3y
britt_brooke @Cinfhen 😂 Sure! I can tag you. I appreciate the compliment. 💚🤗 3y
vivastory You had such a great year! I will def have to grab the SH5 graphic novel now that I see it made your best of list. Also, Carrie was my first King & it's been love ever since 😂 3y
britt_brooke @vivastory I have no doubt you‘ll love the SH5 graphic novel. I read it while rereading the novel and North nailed it! 3y

Finally squeezing in my #20best2020 - I think you tagged me about 6 weeks ago @Centique ! Despite everything, it‘s been a good reading year.

I‘ve read precious little nonfiction this year, but 3 have snuck in here regardless. Then 2 graphic novels, 1 poetry, 3 from the International Booker, a couple of YA and children‘s books, a very chunky chunkster and a whole bunch of books in translation. What *have* you done to my reading, Litsy?!

tenar I also found Citizen incredible. Hoping to read Vesper Flights and The Salt Path next year! 3y
CarolynM Oh wow, A Few Right Thinking Men is in there! And in such good company! I am glad you enjoyed it 😀 3y
batsy We both have Real Life in common! And anything else that's not on my list is going to be added to it 😁 Happy new year 💕 3y
See All 8 Comments
Centique Wow, I haven‘t read any of these! Onto the TBR they all go then 😊👍 I‘ve heard great things about quite a few, but your recommendation always rates highly with me so that makes them a sure thing! Happy New Year Rachel 💕 3y
rockpools I would wholeheartedly recommend both of those! I hope you enjoy them - Happy New year @tenar 😀 3y
rockpools @CarolynM I‘m looking forward to going back and reading more. Happy New Year Carolyn! 3y
rockpools @batsy Bear (bare? I can never remember!) in mind it‘s been an odd year! I‘m not sure anyone else needs the mindfulness poetry of a cow called Buttercup, but hey! Happy New Year Suba 😘 3y
rockpools @Centique Aw, thank you Paula. And Happy New Year! I‘m not entirely sure my recommendations will all translate this year (🐮!) but I hope you‘ll enjoy some of them. I‘m on a hunt for a copy of Gideon the Ninth 😂😂. 3y

Awhile ago, @Cinfhen asked for my #20Best2020 . I‘ve waited until evening of NYE to make my final list. I feel like it changes every time I make a list! But, this is based on my GR ratings as well as how many times I recommended the book to someone - if I‘m constantly telling people I know to read it, then it‘s at the top!

@JaneyWaneyB , my top 5 are the first row!

I‘m trying to finish one more book to reach 150 for the year...a personal best!

Cinfhen I‘m so glad you didn‘t forget to post!! This list requires a #screenshot for further reference 💕🤗🥳Thanks for sharing...Happy New Year, Jess!! Excited for #ReadingAsia2021 3y
Librarybelle Happy New Year, Cindy!! @Cinfhen 🥳🎉🍾 3y
