#SundayCatchUp

Leo tells himself for a long time that he‘s just #paranoid when it comes to his best friend‘s son, Mark. Something is or isn‘t off about Mark, and Leo can‘t figure out if it is all in his head or if something darker is going on.

Mdargusch Stacking! Besides the beautiful cover this book gets great reviews!❤️ (edited) 6y

Are these characters #paranoid or is this “evil house” really haunted?? I don‘t know, but I‘m determined to get through this #darguschfamilymarkupbookclub pick once and for all after having little to no reading time lately!!

Touted as #paranoid fiction, this is the fictional account of the presidential win for Charles Lindbergh. Obviously, he never ran for the presidency, but suppose he did. Having once called Hitler “a great man,” what would the world have been like should Lindbergh have been elected in 1940?

A co worker lent me this book unsolicited years and years ago. I wasn‘t at all interested in reading it, but wouldn‘t you know, I LOVED it. #anglophileapril

Kimberlone I‘ve never read Phillip Roth but he is one of those mid century “white, male” authors that I‘ve been meaning to get to for a long time. Somehow I missed out on reading him while doing my English degree in college. 6y
vivastory Excellent choice! 6y
Mdargusch Sounds fascinating! Who was the co worker? (edited) 6y

Christinak @cinfhen @Reviewsbylola I read this in HS in the 80s and things like the tele-screens were science fiction you had to imagine the technology- when I reread this last fall it was terrifying because now much of it is science fact. A very different read! 6y
Mdargusch I guess I should read this someday? 6y
