Bk13 of May & Bk2 of #20in4 #readathon is done! What a phenomenal universe this is set in & I‘m stoked that the author is neurodiverse, I have a niece that‘s on the spectrum & her imagination is wild too. This has got to be one of the most imaginative ‘verses I‘ve ever read with wildly different cast of intelligent species using all senses to communicate including emotion. Fantastic! This is why I love SciFi so much. #ReadingWomensChallenge 👇

Bk12 of May & Bk1 of #20in4 #readathon is done! Read in ebook form on Scribd, a NF about the lynching of a young African American man in Alabama in 1981. After his killers were finally convicted, his mother brought a civil case which bankrupted one of the most powerful factions in the Klan in America. I learnt a lot more about the state of civil rights in the South & how the Klan was so intertwined with power & politics. Enraging but a must read👇

Cinfhen Well done 👍🏽 Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️ xx 3y
Lizpixie @Cinfhen hi Cindy!🙋🏻‍♀️How‘s things in your neck of the woods lately? I try not to watch the news anymore, it‘s too depressing🙇🏻‍♀️ 3y

TheAromaofBooks Yay bingo!!!! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa And 1981! What! That‘s insane, that isn‘t that long ago at all! 3y
Lizpixie @Riveted_Reader_Melissa I know right? I was shocked too, and at the fact I‘d never heard of it before. I would‘ve been 10yrs old when it happened, there‘s a heartbreaking picture of him in the tree & he‘s wearing the same pair of sneakers I had as a kid. And he was only 19😢 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Lizpixie I would have been 8, so right there with you! And yes, then they turn around and teach you all these struggles in high school about the Civil Rights Movement like it was all decades ago and long solved and over! 🙄 3y

Bk5 of April & Bk2 of #AwesomeApril is done! This is a brand new Scandi Thriller that wasn‘t bad at all. A doco crew go to a village that‘s been abandoned for 50yrs to set up for filming. But some have secrets & are not just there for the film. I‘d give it 4⭐️ #Booked2021 #TranslatedInto1stLanguage #ReadingWomensChallenge #LitsyAtoZ2021 #LetterL #Pop21 #PickYourPoison #ReadingEurope2021 #CloakDaggerChal #Pageathon #PennyPerPage #BookspinBingo

Bk12 of March & Bk2 of #20in4 is done! And I‘ve hit the 20hr already🙌 This one was a slow burner, I almost gave it up after the first few chapters, then it picked up & hooked me into the story. I‘ve never understood fundamental religion, especially ones that say women are inferior. This gave a bit of insight to that way of thinking. #ReadingWomensChallenge #LitsyAtoZ2021 #LetterQ #Pop21 #CloakDaggerChal #Pageathon #BookishBingo #PennyPerPage #320c

Bk7 & my last for #FabulousFebruary is done. It was an intriguing book, it‘s a very similar style to Laura Purcell & Sarah Perry. They all have a very lyrical way of writing & all are either Edwardian or Victorian or earlier. And they have a very similar sense of despair. #ReadingWomensChallenge #QueerLoveStory #LitsyAtoZ2021 #LetterC #PennyPerPage #437c #Pop21 #Forgetting #PickYourPoison #NeedReading2021 #BookspinBingo #BooklistQueenChallenge

Bk1 of May & my #bookspin & 1st Bk of #BookSpinBonanza is done! Loved this very much, I‘m a sucker for Russian folktales. I don‘t know why it took me so long to get to, I‘m stoked to have the next 2 books in the series as well. Highly recommend🙌 #Booked2020 #EccentricMC #ReadingWomensChallenge #FrequentlyRecommendedToYou #ReadingEurope2020 #Russia #MountTBR2020 #Bk21 #BeatTheBacklist2020 #Bk24 #ReadWithMrBook #May #DebutAuthor #MayBookBingo 👇

Librarybelle Perfect choice! And, the cover is so colorful! I like the US cover, but it‘s way more subdued than this edition! 5y

Yikes. It‘s the littlest details that make #Gilead so horrifying.

I love it when a I read such original SciFi! This collection of novellas is so unique, it‘s the 1st SciFi to have a Himba girl as MC, to use mathematical equations as a basis of a form of energy & the variety of alien life at the University is fantastic. Loved it & highly recommend. #LitsyAtoZ2019 #LetterO #ReadingWomensChallenge #YAbookByaWOC #ReadHarder2019 #ByAnAOCSetInOrAboutSpace

A dizzying ride through the mind of Patricia Highsmith, the author of Strangers On A Train. Or was it? A blend of fact and fiction, it‘s difficult to know which are the facts and which fiction, so in that the author has succeeded. Not my favourite book this month but still intriguing. #Pop19 #NovelBasedOnATrueStory #ReadingWomensChallenge #HistoricalFictionBook

#Bk5 of the #24in48 #readathon is finished! This small book was a gothic ghost story. Two young doctors in a London Hospital at the end of the 19th Century are conducting unethical experiments with the dying. When their colleague witnesses one of these experiments he‘s haunted for the rest of his life. Years later, he stumbles across what he realises is the young woman he saw at that macabre scene. #ReadingWomensChallenge #BecauseOfTheCover
