A famous singer known for her Christmas songs hasn‘t been home in 15 years, but when she briefly comes home to pick up her father for vacation events unfold to keep her there. She receives mystery cards with Christmas song lyrics and she‘s taken on a scavenger hunt to figure out who it is. Told like an old-fashioned radio show the best part is the singing. A fine uplifting Christmas story.

First book finished for #HauntedShelf @Catsandbooks #HexesAndCrows

There was so much tension in this book. These characters just broke my heart. I ugly cried in parts. Great writing and character development. 5⭐️ If you like age gap romances with lots of angst, this is your kind of book.

Tatum‘s absolute love for his daughter definitely “sparkles” in this one. Sparkella is starting at a new school and has some issues fitting in—no one understands her personality. Tatum‘s narrative explores identity and being oneself and having the courage to be true to oneself. This #PictureBook would work well for 5-7 year olds. #BBRC #LetterO

LibrarianRyan This is on my list for this year. I am hoping it's good. 5mo
Librarybelle @LibrarianRyan My kid lit professor in library school would hate me saying this, but it was cute. She hated picture books being described as cute. But, I cannot think of any other way to describe it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 5mo
LibrarianRyan @Librarybelle There is nothing wrong with cute. It's what a lot of parents seek. It don't have to be fine literature, kids need cuteness. (Can you tell I would probably not get along with your kid lit professor. Heck I did'nt get along with my own). :) 5mo

Librarybelle She‘s the only professor who I did not get along with, @LibrarianRyan . I like the word cute! 5mo
marleed I would say my 3-yo girl-boy grand twins most often request the ‘cute‘ books in my extensive picture book collection. 5mo
Librarybelle @marleed She had such a clinical perspective on books. I don‘t think she ever consulted kids! I still gravitate towards the “cute” books on the shelves! 5mo

This was a really enjoyable Christmas read covering the story of Eva who has reached a crisis point in her life, following a period of grief and hiding herself away in other things. Suddenly over a Christmas away her gran re-appears to her and this is the cue for ghostly intervention.

#DashingDecember #Book10

Andrew65 I felt this was a very cleverly put together book that gave the right amount of time to introducing us to Eva‘s life, the ghostly interventions and what happened following this intervention. Eva, and the reader, definitely goes on a rollercoaster of emotions seeing her life crisis from different viewpoints, and there are some hard hitting punches thrown in there too. (edited) 12mo
Andrew65 I love the plotting of the book and the characters were cleverly written so that you ended up caring about all of them.

I loved the ending to the book and some of the messages that it delivered, as well as seeing the changes in Eva, it do be aware this isn‘t all sunshine and roses.

I would definitely recommend this book, and would be keen to read more books by this author.
