Mystery: An Alex Delaware Novel | Jonathan Kellerman

#ThreeListThursday @dabbe

I was surprised I got 9! Love these 4 choices. Recognized some other writers I‘ve read but not the book chosen. I thought Dracula would be on a most influential list but maybe that‘s characterized as a Gothic Horror novel not mystery. Off to add some to my TBR 🤦‍♀️

dabbe 🎯 on all of your choices! My TBR just grew quite a bit, too! 😂 Thanks for playing and sharing! 🖤🎃🖤 3w

Realized about 50% in that this was a re-read but, because it‘s been more than a decade, it was essentially a new book😝📚 I‘m enjoying getting re-acquainted with Alex & Milo.

CoverToCoverGirl Well, it was partly new to you.. 2mo

Returning to the beginning of this series after a decade + was a good idea for me. Detective Sturgis & Dr. Delaware didn‘t disappoint me🤓🎧

I read this & several others in my pre-Goodreads days. I‘ve wanted to get back into this for a while & decided that a re-read😱🤯was essential. I enjoyed it & can now carry-on without trying to remember what I‘ve forgotten🤣

Ruthiella With long series like these, I can rarely remember individual stories or plot. It‘s usually only the wider story that I remember, the side characters that reoccur and their and the main detective‘s idiosyncrasies and relationships. (edited) 3mo
DieAReader @Ruthiella 🙋🏻‍♀️same here, usually. There was so very little that I remembered beyond the MCs so, I figured a re-read was due🤣 3mo
TheSpineView Love a reread. 🤩📖📚 3mo

Good read! Deep mob connections that made me want to create a character map!

Milo and Alex are called out to a double homocide, a women who is married to a Bel Air Richey Rich and her Italian lover. Which one was the target? As usual (if you read this series) there aren‘t a lot of surprises here. Milo and Alex eating in restaurants, Blanche the French Bulldog begging for table scraps and Robin working on a vintage guitar. Solid predictable read.

Gripping! Alex is called in to monitor an adult put under 48 hour mental health observation because he was supposedly therapist of record. He wasn‘t. He had treated her son. However, shortly after he finds her a home, she is murdered and Alex is concerned about what might have happened to her son. His search turns up more murders, greed and theft.

I didn‘t walk today because I found myself just too tired to do so — probably leftover from COVID — but I did finish The Ghost Orchid. I ended up liking it more than I thought I would because it took some unexpected turns. My favorite part, though, involved a case of Alex‘s that was completely unrelated to the murder.

bookaholic1 Love this series...Alex and Milo are my all time favorites 9mo

So far, this is one of the less interesting Alex Delaware books, but it‘s still not bad. Beautiful day out today. #audiowalk

Because of Covid and the fatigue from it, I have not walked for 17 days. I was finally able to do so today. I always love a new Alex Delaware book, so this one is my new walking book. #audiowalk

Bookwormjillk I‘m glad you‘re back out there. It took me a while to get back to normal too. 9mo
KathyWheeler @Bookwormjillk Me too. I wasn‘t expecting it to be this long! 9mo
