My choice for the May #ThematicCozies theme of #Flowers/Plants is #6 in the Darling Dahlias series, by Susan Wittig Albert. I have read several others in this series and enjoyed them.

pickEverything I like in a cozy mystery. Amateur female sleuth, police detective boyfriend, likable supporting characters, small town setting, and a mystery that I can‘t figure out. I‘ll read more of this series. 4⭐️

I struggled a bit with the April #Sport prompt for #ThematicCozies, as I‘m not a “sporty” person. But I‘m looking forward to reading this one. In addition to being a runner, the main character also owns a book store. 😉

so-soThis was a pretty good mystery, right up until the end. I just didn‘t buy the way it wrapped up, with the guilty seeming to have little motive and some things never really explained. The “Scottish-isms” felt forced and awkward rather than charming. But the characters were somewhat engaging and the setting was beautiful. Probably won‘t read another in the series tho.
The husband picked this out for me by his own self, so I shall love it no matter what it‘s like. But it looks cute and cozy and just the thing for a chilly winter holiday🙂
