I am enjoying this book-historical fiction about a young Jewish woman who leaves her parents behind in Venice & moves far away, pretending to be a Catholic farmer‘s wife. I know little of the Jewish experience in Mussolini‘s Italy compared to Hitler‘s. #literarycrew #November2023

pickThis was a low pick for me, but a so-so didn‘t seem fair. I thought this book was about something else entirely, so that may play a role in this. The MC Autumn was kind of irritating, yet, the accurately depicted what high-school kids, their minds, the drama.
