My last day of teaching was December 19th. Besides my students, I loved searching for great literature to inspire; I'm already missing it. I can't enjoy my retirement because I am mourning my job. Not depressed, just sad.

I really enjoyed this story of a kiddo stuck between two worlds in all sorts of ways (geographically, linguistically, between family members, etc.). I only wish there‘d been more resolution with their younger brother, that storyline ended on a sour note, and the entire story ended rather abruptly for my taste. However, I can still appreciate the growth Ave experienced throughout the book.

On Monday morning, my dad moved out of our house and into an apartment. He said he won't be far. Just a bus ride away. Down the street, past the park and through the tunnel.

This book is very frank about the day-to-day life of a kid whose parents have split custody. It starts with the dad moving out of the house and into the apartment. It addresses the change in routine that may take place.
